PRICE DROP TO $1500 shipped

OK HERE IS THE NEW DEAL - I'll sell it for $1600 shipped WITH TWO GIGS OF RAM!!! I now need the money sooner than ever, hence the great deal. USPS MOs only. Please see my sig for refs or feel free to get ahold of me. Thanks.

EDIT: Again... will accept Paypal ONLY with STRONG references. Paypal buyers- $40 for fully insured shipping and handling.

My MacBook Pro is now for sale. As close to new condition as you can get. Only difference is I put Radtech's "Pawz" feet on the bottom (in addition to the stock feet, the Pawz can also come off if desired).

The display inverter sometimes, though not always, buzzes somewhat when dimmed. (although I usually run it on full brightness.) Clear cut Applecare case here, I just don't have the time to mess with it anymore. Initially my plan was to let all the kinks run out of the MBP line before getting it fixed, which is why I didn't call Applecare the first week I got it. Speaking of which, Applecare runs until 4-25-07.

It is the stock 1.83ghz/80GB/512Mb model. Comes with all original packaging, accessories, etc. $1600 shipped insured in CONUS if you'll pay with a USPS MO. Please see the links in my sig for feedback/refs.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I'll sell it with 2GB instead of 512MB for $150 extra.

IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO CHANGE THE LISTING IN FORUM VIEW, Please let me know! Thanks.

No one be afraid of buying this laptop! I can understand where he is comming from. Apple WILL replace the parts required to fix the LCD buzz. Sounds like a good deal on a $2000 dollar laptop to me!! Good deal! And good luck with selling it. I have a MBP and L O V E it.

In one of your posts you said you were content with your new mbp. Why the change of heart?

"Applecare runs until 4-25-06"

Is that a mistake?

Just for reference, I sold a Powerbook 17" to someone a few years back, that developed a screen issue after I sold it. The new owner had no issues with Applecare getting it fixed, although he wasnt the original purchaser of the machine.

Great deal on a great machine!

Yes, I'm sorry that is the date I purchased it, and Applecare runs until 4-25-07. Also, I've bought many Powerbooks and other macs in the past, and the standard 1 year Applecare warranty transfers a billion times over (though once you register for the extended 2 years, which I have not done, I think it only transfers once).

I am VERY happy with the MBP. The change of heart is because of this:

I do a lot of photography, and while I've been meaning to organize all my photos I have yet to do so, they are just all over the place. So...
I picked up a 17" iMac on eBay specifically for photos. That is all I'm going to have on that machine, so the hard drive will see less use and I won't have to worry as much about losing the photos.

I am hoping to sell this for "of course" as much as I can, because I'd like it to cover the cost of that iMac and then I'd like to get the best Powerbook I can just to have an everyday computer that is portable.

So that is my reason for selling. Am I going to miss this machine? Heck yeah! But I think the only way I'll ever get to organize the past 5 years worth of photos (and the 1000's I take now) is to have a dedicated computer for it.

And like I said, if someone wants to make a strong commitment, however that is, I'll go ahead and send it to Applecare before I sell it. I'm just trying to get the $$$ to pay the CC bill that I bought the iMac on and of course get the cash to buy the lesser laptop as soon as possible.

Sorry folks, not looking for a trade here as I need the cash to pay off the iMac.

The MacBook Pro lost 25% of its value that fast?
My 1.83 GHz is worth more than the black MacBook.

WTF?

Assuming you're in one of the what, 47, 48 states that charge sales tax, it'll cost you $1665 to buy that refurb from Apple (at 7.5% tax). Cripes people, this is $165 LESS!! Help a now jobless brother out! PLEEEEEASE!

Standard warranty.

So does it still under the standard warranty, I won't have any problems sending it back to apple if I need to fix the issue?

I am ok with Paypal, long time ebay/paypal user and verified!

I'm a little confused as to why you are selling: is it just the fact that the screen buzzes, or do you need a larger hard drive (hence the iMac), or what? Why can't you organize photos on a MacBook Pro?

I'm interested, but I just want to get a clearer picture as to why you're selling.

Thank you!
Seth

I'm selling to switch to an iMac plus a smaller laptop. I'm only using the iMac for photos. This simplifies the software I have on it, it reduces the chance of drive failure, and gives me more space for just photos. The cheaper smaller laptop I'll get will be my everyday screw around on the internet computer.

The screen inverter has nothing to do with it. I mentioned that for full disclosure for any potential buyers. I can call up Applecare and get it fixed in about a week, I just haven't had the time lately to do so. Whoever buys it can get it fixed no problem, as the screen inverters are a well documented and easy to fix problem (replace them with new ones).

This looks like a really sweet deal, I am quite surprised that no one has snatched this ESP with AppleCare. As for me, 1. I am in Canada, i'm too cheap to pay for shipping. 2. I just got a new job, so I am saving for the 2.16 MBP. Good luck though!

Wow, I don't think I can resist this deal anymore. I'll take it. mlrproducts, please PM me with the details of payment and shipping.

I seem to be buying quite a bit of stuff from you. Perhaps the Sawtooth and MBP can be shipped together?

Hooray! Good deal for me!
