Since this is a feeler thread... If you don't end up w/ a ton of offers, it might be because that currently, Canon has a $100 rebate on their new cameras and these Rebel XTs can be bought new for anywhere from $500 (special combinations of coupons from Dell)-$800 (general price from CompUSA, Best Buy, etc).

+1 I was about to post the same thing. I just bought a new Rebel XT for $475. $1000 seems waaaay to high

This is your third thread for this sale. They have been merged and the duplicate posts deleted.

My thread dissappeared before. Sorry about that.
Also, I am including a lot of stuff with this sale. What do you think would be a fair price based on current pricing for the camera and what I am including.

I agree. He is including a lot. I have a rebel and am appalled that the prices are dropping so fast. The accessories are still priced quite high and even if this thing can be bought on a website for $500, the extras tack on a couple hundred more. The $500 does not have things that this has and even though it can be bought for less, I do believe MSRP is still $800.
He is asking for $900 OR BEST OFFER. Please do not taint his post buy posting that you got one cheaper. If a prospective buyer thinks it should be bought for less then they will make a lower offer. By posting things like "I got one for $500", you raise doubt in his price. You are effectively killing the value of his camera, my camera, and even your own camera.

We have a set of these cameras at work: gorgeous results, very easy to use, nice to hold and not too heavy for long shoots. I hope you get what you're hoping to get for it!

Thank you very much. I was pretty angry when they posted that in my thread. I know my equipment is worth this much, this is a great package.
It is on eBay, I figured I wouldn't have much luck selling it here after a few people crapped in my thread, saying "$1000 is too much" without even looking to see what I am offering or ignoring it.
You are all welcome to make Best Offers on eBay. Thanks again darwen for saying what I wanted to say. :D

I was pretty angry when they posted that in my thread. I know my equipment is worth this much, this is a great package. You have some of us confused. You posted this thread in three places, and one was titled "Feeler". People posted comments about your price in the Feeler thread before the threads were merged, which is exactly what the Marketplace Rules say is the purpose of a Feeler thread. So why did you call it a Feeler if you are now annoyed by those comments?

Are you having any issues with the camera. Is it taking good pictures? Is there any form of damage? The only reason you are selling it is to go to film?

...but you might try selling the items piece by piece, rather than as a package. Sure you might have to sell the body for less, but might be more likely to get decent prices on the other pieces.
A guy in a thread not so long ago got a canon body from a friend and was looking for lenses for it. Others might just want the remote or the battery pack.
Good luck, either way.

I've never seen a "best offer" auction on eBay. I appears that you can't see the other bids. This seems VERY counter productive for the seller. Typically on an eBay auction you know the last bid and you try and outbid the others to "win" and this drives the selling price up. This "best offer" auction looks like you'd just get a large number of low-ball bids. A lot of peole will put in $2 and $50 thinking they might just get lucky. Has anyone used this type of eBay deal before?

Yeah, the seller can choose to accept or decline "Best offers". I've once gotten an item like that, when it was a BIN only auction and the guy wanted ridiculous amounts of cash for it. But yeah, on the whole, I don't like 'em as a seller.

No problems at all with it. No damage. As like new as it gets. Just switching to film.

I prefer this system for certain things. I know my price is very low for what I am selling, so the chances of me selling it for that amount pretty good. The best offers give me an outlet in the event that it doesn't sell. I decline obvious lowballs. I have never had anyone put $2 or something insane for an item. Most of the offers are reasonable.

It says this item is no longer for sale on eBay, but not that it was purchased. Is it still for sale? What made you end the auction?
