Another milestone for MacRumors: 15,000 members!

This community has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years. I hope our newest members will become active participants, and that our older members will continue to stick around and contribute.

Congratulations to arn and blakespot for running such a great site!

Well then so should MacFan25.

Instead, I'll just give you a link (http://forums.macrumors.com/memberlist.php?s=).

Happy, jello? :p

he listed the two "gods" of the site

you listed some other goofballs who have too much time on their hands. ;)

and yet forgot jef.

Feb 20, 2003, 09:31 PM
Nah, forget about my adopted parent? :p

He should be somewhere under "J" in the memberlist.

And, if it wasn't for "goofballs" or people never posting, we would not be celebrating 15,000 registered members. So be glad we have goofballs here and there.

wow, that's a lot of people. I'm glad they aren't all 15 posts per
day regulars. would that me 225,000 posts per day?

MacFan25
Feb 20, 2003, 09:35 PM
I wonder how many members we have that never come to the site or never post.

That would be a lot of posts! But, I'm sure that there would always be interesting topics being discussed.

the goofballs are pretty separate from the 15k i think. though it's true that most of the goofballs have donated and have in theory helped to make it possible for the 15k. but not the goofballing in and of itself.

Way to go arn and blakespot, nice job. :D

http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=15000

there's your 15000 member. What I don't get is that the last one on the list is 15105, who are all the other members that don't count?

Yeah. I know that the rankings have been posted in threads before, but maybe they should be put in the FAQs or somewhere permanent like that so that every newbie doesn't ask or wonder about them. Anyone else agree?

Feb 21, 2003, 04:48 PM
I agree. I bet they are somewhere. I bet they are in the email
sent to new members, set to activate the account.

MacFan25
Feb 21, 2003, 05:04 PM
Yeah, maybe so. Anyone still have that e-mail?

If arn got $1 from every member, he could afford this (http://www.apple.com/xserve/) with one of these (http://www.apple.com/xserve/raid/).

Or just two of these (http://www.apple.com/xserve/) with some added extras.

If everybody donated $20, then he could almost get enough of these (http://www.apple.com/xserve/) to fill this (http://www.apcc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AR2100BLK&language=en&LOCAL.APCCountryCode=ww).

That would probably be overkill for MacRumors, but it would be really cool... Imagine 42 of these (http://www.apple.com/xserve/) along with 15000 other computers folding for a month... It would be impressive to say the least...

When I first saw the site, I wouldn't have signed up for a dollar,
but I would pay more than a dollar now that I have experienced it. ;)

but then it's your mom who's the demigod!

arn,
if one gives like an exhorbitant amount like 200$, do you suppose he could get a title like "über-demi-god" or something outrageous like that? lol
