I've got a Clamshell iBook 366 (indigo) with an extra 512MB of memory and an airport card that isn't getting much use. The yoyo works but is flaky, I have it and a repalcement 45W adapter that I'll include with it that works solid.
I've also got Panther CD's and license that I'm willing to include.
Possible trades include parts for a "gaming" type PC. I have a PSU/case and PC-3200 RAM, I just need a motherboard, CPU, and video card. Willing to trade for all these components or part of them. Also willing to sell for $265.
Just completed a trade with my iMac G5 with 4JNA, have bought two older laptops on here also. Pics available tonight if anyone wants them. just send a message via PM or post here.

I can come up with an ATX motherboard and a 1.5 GHz P4 and/or a 2.6 GHz Celeron to trade if interested.

I'd like to come up with something a little faster than that...I'm hoping more along the lines of a P4 on the 800MHz bus or an Athlon of some sort.
edit: for example, brand new, I could go to MWave.com and get an Athlon64 3000+ for $93, an ATi Xpress 200 motherboard for $50 and a GeForce 6600GT for $120 and come out under my asking price. So I'm looking for similar hardware or to sell outright.

I'm sorry, I just got home from the show and I haven't taken them yet. I will first thing in the morning so if you're on the west coast, they'll be up there before you are. Heck, they might be up there before you are if you're in the midwest; I'm usually up at 6:30...lol

And we have pics. The first one shows its only flaw...someone wrote 15A on it in marker. The other pics show that it's in very nice shape otherwise, one pic shows the battery/airport, another pic shows the CPU/memory. Should cover everything.

Hi
I'm sorry if I just overlooked it [and I feel it is strange that no one has asked yet] but what size hard drive? Since there were two models, is this the one with or without a FireWire port?

This has a firewire port, and most likely a 10GB drive if it wasn't upgraded.

This has firewire and a 10GB drive. Also it's a CD-ROM. Sorry for not including that originally.

Looks like FirePak and I have agreed to a deal. I can't believe how much interest this generated, though. Thanks all.

91% alcohol should knock the marker off.

Would the alcohol harm the plastic at all? I wouldnt mind spending a few bucks to get something that would take it off and not mess it up at the same time. Although now that i think about it alcohol does come in plastic bottles lol =)

No it wont. Dont use acetone, as it will.

Yeah, I don't have a bottle of alcohol lying around (was goign to try to get the marker off before I took pics this morning but couldn't find any) but I found a bottle of finger nail polish remover...I remembered that had acetone so I kept it far far from the plastic of the clamshell. That stuff is scary!

Go to Lowes/Home Deport/Walyworld and get a bottle of "Goof-Off" or "Goo-Gone"
both work great, pleasant odor, and wont harm the plastik.
Acetone (in this case) would be like using Dirty Harry's .44 automag, it WILL remove your fingerprints :D

A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will take the marker off easily. Similar thing was on my clamshell and that's what I used. Won't harm the surface.

Goof-Off absolutely does NOT have a pleasant smell :P

Goof-off is worse than acetone.

Hello, is this laptop still available? I'm in need of a laptop for college and this one is darn tempting :)
Please let me know!

No offense, but you're really gonna want something more powerful for college. Trust me when I say this, I have one and they 800x600 is really limiting, unless you want it just to have for fun, I really reccommend going with something that is at least a G4.

well right now I have a Mac mini and I have been contemplating keeping it and getting a low-end laptop for class or selling it and buying a newer model machine. I'd really rather not sell my mini though, since it is the first Mac I've owned and I really love it. I call it my baby computer. :)

A higher resolution would be nice but i dont think its too terrible. Im giving this laptop to my girlfriends sister and all she does is light WP,Chat and surf the internet. I might end up throwing tiger on it but i think for her needs its suitable as is. Personally the higher resolution the better but i think she will be happy with the free laptop shes getting lol =)

yeah I could see how SVGA would be limiting, especially for OSX. OS 9.2 would run nicely with SVGA, but I don't see why anyone would want to run classic full-time after getting a taste of OSX, unless just for nostalgia.

Sorry, it's not available anymore. FirePak and I have reached a deal. Thought I put that in the thread before?

Heresy!!
Unclean, unclean! ;)
Anyhoo, I still believe a clamshell iBook would be the perfect machine to use in class for notes, etc. They're pretty inexpensive nowadays, and if I run OS 9.2 on it I think the speed/display limitations wouldn't be a problem. Are there any others for sale? Should I trust eBay/a private reseller such as PowerMax or MacofAllTrades? Thanks!
