Hi
When you read this interview you saw that he said the G4 will have a long live !
Yes, I think its typical for apple they say very diplomatical "He will have a long live, the G4"
That means not that there is no G5 in MWNY or end of year it means only that the G4 will not die now !
So, there is a chance for a G5.
I hope !

I do also...
If you are listening Steve, give me a G5 at MWNY (although I'm quite happy with my Quicksilver........) :)

I think its still realistic that we will see a G5 this year

I think there is at least another 1 update left in the G4 + maybe even two at the rate we seem to get updates (+133Mhz).

The ongoing development of the G4's is for the iMacs and iBooks, not the PowerMac lines. At the most we'll see one more PowerMac G4 revision. The gap is still no where near wide enough.

I think the G5 will be the MPC7500 chip. Even the MPC7470 seemed like a rather nice upgrade.

I wouldn't count on a G5 this year:
MPC7470 G4 MWNY July 2002
MPC7500 G5 MWSF January 2003
