This looks to be very specialized hardware. It's difficult to imagine this working for general algorithms. It looks much more like Altivec on some kind of crazy, genetically-engineered, steroids.

ie, I guess maybe it will run some photoshop filters pretty fast. :)

Maybe Apple could switch OS X to work on PACT if Motorola fails to deliver on the G5... :) Of course, the PACT is probably like $2000 a chip or higher..
