I'm looking to buy a ATA133 IDE internal HD for an older imac computer. Here's what I'm looking for:

-At least 30GB.
-7200RPM
-Good condition/working perfectly.
-No old drives, within reason.
-no 2.5" or SATA drives.
-Quiet is a plus.

I'm looking to spend around $20, I really don't need something new, but I need something that is reliable and that works.

If its the iMac G3 slot-loaders, I dont recommend a 7200rpm. I have one in mine, and it gets very, very hot.

What about a tray loader? My friend bought a 7200 RPM ATA drive that he wants me to install in his iMac 333.

have a 60gb 7200rpm in a purple 400 slot loader. ran hot before the drive, runs hot after the drive. love the smell of old electronics working hard! been running on and off for several years this way. just FWIW.

Actually the newer 7200rpm drives run the same temp as the year 2000-2002 OEM iMac G3 4200rpm drives. I have a 120gb 7200 drive in an iMac g3 500 with 1 gig of ram. Runs very fast and heat is not an issue.
