Anyone any suggestions on a good scanner for doing graphics, DTp work etc, Iam working on a budget of £350-400 Sterling.

The latest reviews I saw say that the HPs have the best photo scanning but the Epsons are a very close second. I recommend either just get the best one you can afford.

Forget HP and Epson, they don't specialise in scanners. There low-end is great for cheap and cheerful work. But for more serious work look at either the Umax powerlook 1000 or if you can find one a Heidelberg Linoscan 1200. The Linoscan 1200 was reduced from £350 to £119 just before christmas and will give better results then a £400 Epson or HP will.

I definitely, definitely agree. Heidelberg is the way to go.

I'm very happy with my Epson Photo 2450...although I'd love to lid to open from the side like a photocopier. I get good scans IMO from slides.
