Hey all, I've been using my iBook (14" 1.42) since late september and absoloutely love the thing, but as my windows laptop's seen better days I'm considering getting a Macbook so I can do my OSX and Windows stuff on the same machine. With me so far? Good :-)

Anyway, I'm looking to trade my iBook for someone's (White) Macbook. It's the stock 1.42Ghz model, with a gig of Apple installed and supplied RAM. I'm based in the UK for what it's worth :)

As I say it's a great little machine and does everything I need in a Mac, but this is just my aim to condense down to one laptop rather than two :)

Maybe you got the macbook and don't like the screen size, or the keyboard. Maybe intel doesn't run non-universal fast enough for you?

Anyone any thoughts? :)

Would you be adding some cash?

Cash is a bit of a premium for me at the minute so I'd be unable to add much, I do however have a 4G ipod I'd be willing to put in I imagine.

I dunno, at the minute I'm interested in what people think to the idea. Hit me with thoughts :)
EDIT: I'd also be interested in selling it outright if the offer was good, as with my HE discount me buying a Macbook isn't that dear for me.

I doubt anyone with a new macbook is willing to part with it for an ibook unless it's with the ipod thrown in, or a decent amount of cash.

Most early macbook owners are people who resisted buying last revision 12" portables and 14" ibook in order to get the faster machine.

Even with Rosetta it'll probably still be faster than the ibook.

Best bet would be to try and sell the ibook on ebay as they hold their value reasonably well on there, and see how you get on.

To be honest putting the iPod in wouldn't be a problem for me. It's sat around doing nothing at the minute :)

I know it's a long shot on here, and should needs be I'll hit up ebay :) However I figure it's worth the go on here anyway.

Definetly. I've bought & sold more on here than Ebay, and trust transactions more with real mac users than annoymously on ebay. (besides it's free on here :) )

Yeah, I mean my aim between the iPod and iBook (not necessarily together) would (ideally) be around £700 or just short, which would be enough to get me that entry level macbook with the gig of Ram. I've got gubbins like the iPod dock, and a sleeve for the ibook and so on that I can throw in.

Also if anyone's interested I have an O2 XDA II available for sale, not sure on a price for it but it's immaculate, only just saw it on myshelf and thought about it :)
