Another question about the black DS

Does anyone know if Nintendo will be releasing the black DS here in the states anytime soon or should i go ahead and import it from Europe?

Blue is only available in Japan, same with the lighter blue.

I think after the U.K release and everything is settled on that side they will bring it to the U.S.

Yes, I guess the black one will eventually get to the US, but if it doesn't you can get an imported one by the time you are ready to trade in your white one for a black one if it doesn't.

I plan on buying one from a retailer with a liberal return policy such as costco. You can return for up to 2yrs with receipt. Bestbuy usually offers product replacement plans for a fee of course, but my guess is that you'd pay ~$20 for a 2year replacement policy. Just be sure not to do the return in store. Call the return line. They send you a prepaid postage box to return, and they mail out a check for the amount you originally paid + tax. You must use the check at BB.

Both of these options are NO questions asked, and if there is a price drop, you are still entitled to the price YOU paid. You use the difference between the price you paid and the price of repurchasing to buy another game for the ds.

I'm sure there are other similar warranty/replacement plans available. These are the only ones I have personal experience with...good luck.

Mate did they have em for sale in Cork today? Not fair... Tralee wouldnt let me collect mine. I think the same about the black too, if it was matte like the DS fair enough but glossy :o too many greasey finger prints...

why go through so much trouble just for the black one? is white really so bad? I happen to think the white looks way better than the black, but if the colors were reversed, I wouldn't go through so much trouble for a white one when black was so readily available.

Because it sounds like I love Windex more than if I were to be 'girlfriend' with Windex, but if I am willing to go gay for the cleaning product then it sounds like I love the Windex a lot.


....or I'm really desperate.

Either way I still like Windex.
