Madventures of the Love Rockets.

Should I be scared?

haha! possibly ;)
it's an RPG I started last year but never got round to finishing it. I have all the backstage stuff done I just need to make levels and enemies. Gonna be great though. it's a huge team project with my mates all directing it, based on the adventures (or MADventures as they usually end up with someone in hospital) of our little group of 5 mates. Lord Love Rocket was the name of a guy in a quiz team on a comedy over here. and we started turning up at quiz nights calling ourselves The Love Rockets. tribute or something. the boss guy is an ex-mate of ours who thought he was an actual vampire.

anyways! thats the crash course.

Just got a Reply! not entirely reassuring though.

OSX exporting is still in the future, though he hinted there may be a fully featured OSX version of MMF2 coming out (get your credit cards ready).
He also said that I need to update the MMF1.5 software extensions before opening a 1.5 game in 2. that means nothing to you. but it does mean a direct MMF2 version of Sam would take more than just clicking open then export. ah well :o

not what I wanted to hear. but I would cry for an OSX version of MMF2.

It was a huge inspiration behind it, just the godly simple battle system really inspired me to follow in the same path.
sorry about the GUI too. it's still very much work in progress.

thanks MRU :)

It'll be nice to have Alpha channels in MMF2! :)

I hope they do release a OS X version soon... I'd definitely try it and try your games jimmi!

Today was a surprise day. We got a release date for Multimedia Fusion 2! "That means nothing!" you say.
I programmed The New Satan Sam in MMF1.5. and 2 will be out on the 30th. a while ago I contacted the developers and asked if MMF2 will have any kind of OSX compatibility. Apparently, though heaven knows how this is possible, I got a message back saying they are considering it due to demand.

So. I just sent another email asking 2 important questions. will 2 be able to open and export 1.5 games? and can it build for OSX?
I should get an answer back soon.

So there we go. The New Satan Sam might be headed to OSX early next month. along with a more optimised engine and a smoother 60fps, with VSync of course. magic!

All this... and I've just started work on my summer projects - The New Satan Sam 2 and Madventures of the Love Rockets.

Sounds great raggedjimmi! I enjoy playing Satan Sam on PeeCee, but I would love it even more if I could play it on Mac OS X. :)

theres an extension for alpha channels in MMF1.5 but it's so limited, such a huge memory hog it's near unusable. I had a few in Sam, namely the side/downblast beams and the swirling lights just before the attack. but if you have a slow machine you'd know how much a drain those were!

some more pics! cuz I feel like it...

I hope it isn't too obvious I have an obsession with pixel art and 2D graphics :D

Is it not on my site? Shikun is the chicken catching game from Zelda. just with nets! when it was launched I called it the "chicken catching simulation fangame", in homage to Metal Gear Solid too.

And be able to pirate it on eBay ;)

But The New Satan Sam is free.

Jimmi, hopefully your new games will be free as well, but if not, then I'll try to support your games (or at least donate a couple of bucks) if possible, as I really enjoyed playing TNSS.
