Over the last 3 weeks or so I have been unable to regularly access the forums! 50% of the time the front page will load but I cant go any further. I recieve the emails saying I have a new responces but quite often I cant read them. Whats going on Arn? Is anyone else having this problem?

Not that it probably matters but I am using Safari (v60).

I for one have had no problems at all, though I NEVER visit the front page, I go straight to forums.macrumors.com :)

maybe try clearing your cache?

could it be there's something wrong with your ISP?

the site has been very slow for me overall. Sometimes I can't connect, but most of the time it just takes about 30 seconds for each page to load (and this is on every machine I've tried... even on my dad's new laptop which I'm setting up right now)

I've only had a few times where I couldn't connect to the forums, other than that its been smooth sailing.

Odd, have you tried from a different machine?

What is the problem?

Error Page? Server Busy?

I think server busy....I get that sometimes....usually in the morning around 9am when everyone gets to work and then doesnt work....and comes here....

If you just wait a second and hit reload it usually loads though.

i haven't had too much of that problem lately, but i don't know if this is safari, or Mr, or what, but parts of the boards seem cut off or choppy, like parts of images are missing. it's not really a problem or anything, just kind of annoying.

I get the server busy thing often as well. usually the reload does it for me, though, as well. no complaints.

prob has to do with safari and that theme.

Try switching back to the "default" theme.

Consider the Mac OS X Theme "unsupported" :)

thanks, arn. just wanted to make sure i didn't do anything wrong. i think i'll stick with the aqua theme, it looks so much nicer, and i'll just deal with the little annoyances.

The message I get is : "Unable to Connect to page .....". Sometimes, a page starts to load up + then gives up (rare though). However, normally if it starts loading up then it will work perfectly. Its just that I quite often cant get access to the thread links from the email notifications or even to the forums main page.

Themes? I installed Safari + have not changed anything like that (all still on default).

NB. I get the same problem with IE. Maybe its my ISP?

I have had infrequent problems loading a page, but nothing like you seem to have been experiencing. Have you tried other browsers besides Safari and IE?

I get the same problem with Mozilla, IE + Safari. Its not that. When it works, it works great (like now) but so frequently I cant even read any threads.

I think this is an issue with Safari specifically...I get that on a lot of websites...I just hit click "ok" and load it again...

it usually comes around the second time without a problem... ;)

I'm using Mac OS 9 & Internet Explorer 5.2, haven't been experiencing any connection problems. Thank you arn for all your support. I really enjoy this forum, a good give and take among fellow members! ;)

yeah, there are sporadic moments when nothing will load on MR
for me too, but they never last longer than 30 seconds, and they
don't happen often.

I don't think it's Safari specific. i use the OS X skin on the forums, and it plain sucks on safari, which is tha main reason i flat refuse to use regularly.

in Camino (Chimera) i VERY frequently have to wait about 1.5 minutes for a page to load. it happens all in bunches. like right now everything is perfect, but this morning it was bogged down as hell everywhere. it makes it feel like there's a lot of users on at once, but there are only about 120 users on when i go and check after i finally get it running right.
