WTB: decent, yet cheap, windows box

My best friend's cat spilled water on her Dell laptop last week and fried the motherboard. She doesn't have the funds for a new machine, and doesm't really need one, as all she does is surf the web and burn an occasional cd. So do any of you (Switchers or otherwise) have a yucky beige box sitting around collecting dust that you'd want to sell? Only requirements are an ethernet card (or slot for one). Monitor optional.

I've got a 667Mhz PIII XP box I built myself and have had almost zero problems with that I may want to part with in the near future (providing I can replace it somehow)

It's got an ethernet port, 32x CD-RW, 8x DVD 20GB hard drive and whole bunch of other boring PC specs, will go into detail if asked....

Maybe $300 or so?

But only if I can replace it almost immediately ahhhhh....

Trade for an Xbox?

Does the offer of a trade for an XBox apply to anyone? I have one sitting on the TV table that I haven't been using much lately. Always just go over to a freind's where they have two XBoxes for some great Halo parties.

I've been looking for an Xbox for awhile now, no money is the problem and all I've got to trade for it is a PC as described above, no iPod, sorry.

The PC is as valuable as the XBox. Your post just got me to thinking that I might be able to trade the box for an iPod to replace the one that was stolen from me.

What sort of slots does the machine have? Does it have USB ports?

Two on the motherboard. No Firewire (never needed it)

Got an ATI All-in-Wonder 32MB AGP, SB Live! 5.1 sound card, ethernet card, modem, 256MB RAM, XP Pro, and that's about it.
