I'm not very experienced with the Wi-Fi of Animal Crossing whatsoever. I just got the game today and wanted to see some other people's villages. I'm not sure what information you need to let me into your village (I'd let you into mine, but there's not much to see), but here's some of my stuff...

Hey there-

keep in mind that BOTH friends need to add the friend code- I'm sure most people are aware of this, but some may not be. So if you take codes from this list, the same friends must add YOU in order for it to work.

Also, i've joined the website Animal Crossing Community (http://www.animalcrossingcommunity.com/), that has tons of AC:WW boards, and a really good method of exchanging friend codes. Met some really great people there.

That being said, I'll join this list- please PM me if you want to be my friend, so I know to add you. I play very odd irregular hours, but love the game and love hanging out with new people.

How does the actually process of going to another person's village work? Do both people need to be at the gateway at the exact same moment?

Hey Daniel-
In this long post I'll give the wifi description a breakdown for you. It may be useful for other new AC:WW users, as well:

First, each player must set up their DS to play on wifi. Instructions to do this are included with your DS. Once you're set up on wifi, then you request a "Friend Code" in the Animal Crossing game itself. You speak to the character Copper at your town's gate in order to request a friend code. Once you have it, you give your code to pals, and they give you theirs.

Each player must add the friendcodes, character names, and town names to their individual games. So, for instance, in order for MsKoshka and I to visit each other, we both must add each others information to our own game carts.

To do this, you go to your character's inventory and click the Heart icon, and select "Register." Here, you enter your friends' information. Initially, their name will be orange, with a small triangle next to it. When they have added YOU to their list, the name will turn green, with a circle next to it.

Once you've done all this, you're set, and you can visit towns. To do this, both players must be online at the same time. One player hosts the game by setting their town gates to Open- again, talk to Copper and ask him to "invite friends." Other players can then come and hang out. If your friend has opened their gates, talk to Copper and tell him you want to go out. All available friends who have their gates open will appear in a list, and you can select from them.

4 total users can be in any town at any time.

hmm... Trying to think of other power tips.

Some things I've learned:
To quickly register new friends while you're visiting towns, click the heart icon, then "Register," and you can add any other people who are in the town instantly! Make sure you ask them to do the same, though!

Also, the wifi connection can be laggy, and sometimes will cut out. Who ever is hosting a game can save simply by pressing Start, then "Save and Continue." [They can also end their hosting by clicking "Party's over!"] I've found that any time somebody gives you something important, or you get a new item or catch a rare fish, you'll want to ask for a save. If the game lags or shuts down, you'll lose anything that wasn't saved. I've had it happen once or twice.

Otherwise, I've been having a great time online, hope to see some more of you! Again, also check out Animal Crossing Community (http://www.animalcrossingcommunity.com/), they've got great boards and friend code systems already in place. I'm on there as "sturgidson"

Looks like it's only on Nintendo (first party) titles. Probably some deal between Nintendo of America and Toys "R" Us/Amazon. Good deal I might add as all of those games are very good.

Some time they was ashore (coconut), but mostly, you have to invite someone to your town and tell him to bring some with him.

This is just a guess, but I believe the triangle indicates they are offline, and the circle indicates they are online.

in my town if you need to get somewhere just follow the patterned path and if u see a path that is blue and has a flower a fish and bug on it with the writing tread carefully, this means that you should walk carefully so you don't scare away the creatures in the water and on the trees and so you don't step on my flowers.
