This thread is a callout to anyone with an Intel-based Mac and plays the original Unreal Tournament on it.
I'd just like to know, how does the game run? Are there any hiccups, major frame-rate slow downs, or glitches/bugs?
Also try some rather large maps, with lots of action going on. Maybe even run the Wicked400 demo if you can.
Wicked 400 Demo Download (http://www.socamx.com/othershit/Wicked400.dem.zip)
Just download the demo, unzip it and put it in the base folder of your Unreal Tournament install.
Load the game, go to Settings: Preferences and set Min Desired Framerate to 0. Then do Tools: Timedemo Statistics to turn on the FPS reader.
Open the console with ~, and type 'demoplay Wicked400' and let the demo play to the end. When it finishes, open your console again to check the FPS results, min/max and average. I'd like to see your results, so post them in this thread if you can. Also if you include your settings, that would be helpful too.
Reason I ask for all this, is because how well this game runs in Rosetta is important to me because it is one of my favorite games of all time, and I can't be bothered to install Windows or Linux just to play one game on an Intel Mac. This one game is one reason I'm still a bit weary of getting an Intel Mac.
If all of you'd like, you can also feel free to post benchmarks from all Macs as well, just say which Mac you have to compare.
It's a shame the game will never be truly ported to OS X in a state that is above this crappy UTX Beta 3.
