If you think you're buying one before I do, you've got anothing thing coming! :p
I've been looking for quite a while, mostly for 15" and 17" models, but a 20" model would be very nice!

just curious, but why would the G4 be worth more/wanted more than the G5?

I have a 20" G4 I am selling for my brother. I know he has a new 20" G5 already so wants to only sell it and no trades. 1 Day left on auction

Buy it now for $949? Does he know that for another $350 anyone can go buy a brand new dual-core iMac at almost twice the CPU speed, twice the HD space, much faster RAM, and a far greater video card (among many other things as well)?
His machine doesn't even have built-in wireless...
People seem to be forgetting that with each new iMac release, their machine's value drops. The iMac G4 is steps upon steps behind the current iMac (Intel Core Duo).
One day left and no bids. Wonder why. Tell him I'll give him $600 cash for it. It's simply not worth any more than that.

Thank you for your "expert opinion"
Look at ended ebay auctions for similar spec machines and you will know why I am asking what I am asking. It's the same reason ipod minis are going for way more than they should. The design is loved by many. As mac freeks we care what our computers look like . Please don't piss on my post and then come low ball me in PM. Macrumors is full of know it alls who actually know nothing.
BTW for 30% more I can buy a BMW instead of a Toyota. Does that make a toyota not worth it. Think about it.

Ouch, that was rather harsh.
I don't recall claiming to be an expert, so you can remove the quotations. All I know is that the proof is in the pudding. No $800 bids and certainly no Buy It Now offers. I'm not trying to be rude or "piss" on your post, I'm just being realistic. It'd take one hell of a hardcore Mac fanboy to pay almost a grand for your machine.
By the way, my offer was only a "low-ball" because I offered what I thought it was worth. Maybe you will find someone who will give you more, but if not, come talk to me and we'll do business. :)

Someone HAS bid on this machine, but only at the starting price, I doubt it's going to get much higher. It's a very nice machine indeed, it's just generations behind, the design alone is holding it's value.

Perhaps at this point it has been bid on, but not at the time I posted that. Besides, my point was basically that I could not fathom spending that much on something when newer, better technology is out for not too much more money. Doesn't make sense to me.
P.S. I love the design too, just not that much. :)

All I can say is you can't judge an ebay auction till it ends. That's why it is an auction.

Man, I jus realised something. The iMac G4 sells for around 500 on most eBay parts, and the iMac G5 sells for more than 1000, I could have simply gotten that G4 for 580, and traded it to you and gotten a G5, and saved about 300 or more dollars....man. Dangit, I'm too late, lol. Just a thot.

Well, you were sorta asking for it. ;) It doesn't matter what the machine is 'worth', it's not hard to find what similar machines are going for on EBay, and then price comparably. But no harm done. :)
To OP- I've searched around for 20" G4 iMacs before too. On EBay, the price premium (since they seem to be pretty rare) just doesn't seem worth it (at least it has USB 2 for iPods...) Your best bet is to maybe re-post your request here every month or 2, until something turns up. You're really better off keeping your G5 iMac, it's a beautiful machine anyways.
If someone could rig up the insides of a dual core Mini, and stick it in the 20" G4 iMac case, that might be worth a lot! ;) (it's probably not even possible.)
