Well this has been my upgrade project lately, but the little lady's been complaining that it's becoming too expensive and we don't "need" another computer anyway.

I'm still fighting the good fight to keep it, but what would it be worth in the following config?

B&W G3 Rev A (I think)
1.1GHz Powerlogix upgrade G3 750GX (great chip, rock solid)
768MB PC133
40GB HDD )7200 RPM, new, quiet
CD-RW Apple OEM drive (and zip drive, for whoever cares)
Dual 16MB Rage 128 graphics cards
4-port USB 2.0 PCI card

Very good cosmetic condition.

Is there interest for something like this out there?

edit: Trades/partial trades considered. I'll listen to anything :)

how much you want just for the processor? I'm interested in that.

Yeah, my friend might be interested in just the processor as well ;)

Sorry, would rather not part it out just yet. Feel free to PM me offers though.

I will also absolutely entertain trade offers for any portable or G4 system. I can include cash if necessary.

I've had a couple questions I'll answer publically...

the Ram is 4 dimms, 2 x 256, 2 x128, all four slots full

the optical drive is a cd-rw only, not cd-rw/dvd

no, no pin switching or anything of that nature was required to insert the ZIF. it's plug and play, and fully supports 10.4.x, although I'm running 10.3.9 at the moment.

I will try and get pictures up tonight if anyone expresses interest.

Well, when you decide to part out, PM me. I'm interested in that processor of yours... I can even do a partial trade with you for a 450mhz G4 ZIF.

I would say $250 or so is a fair amount to expect, possibly less. Sadly, the B/W is worth a lot more now as parts than as a whole.

Thanks. Yeah, I think the ZIF alone could fetch $175 or so on eBay. Maybe if I really wanted to sell, that'd be the route to go.

I'm stll entertaining trade/buy offers though, before I make any decisions.

I also have a 400MHz G3 ZIF up for grabs in case anyone wants it for a beige or something.

I love the fact that you're lady's been moaning at you to get rid of it because you don't need another computer although by the sounds of things on here you're more interested in trading it for another one!! Gotta love the mac addiction. If you do want to sell it I'd recommend you put the old chip back in the G3 and sell that and the faster processor seperately. No need to part it out completely but I'd do that one thing at the least.

Thanks for the advice. I figure if she sees me mailing it, I'll have a couple days of peace at least, until the other one got here ;)

how about any interest in trading this w/ the upgrade card for a PM G4 AGP system?
