Hey all,
I just purchased a MacBook about two weeks ago, everything is stock except for the RAM (I have 768mb's installed on it). It is the $1099 model, and I am really debating if I need to have this much power in a laptop. Personally I don't need to run Windows (as I run it on my iMac), and I've always loved the PowerBooks... I'm just putting this out there to see if anybody is interested in trading their machine or mine (+ appropriate $ on either end) to match value.
EDIT: This is official now, I am totally committed to the idea of getting rid of the MacBook -- I will supply pictures and answer any questoins (including PMs) when I get back from work =)
Update #2: Called Apple this morning, and they will be replacing the top case of my MacBook with a plastic that does not discolor -- this entire process should take about ten days, so if anybody is in no hurry please get back to me. Once the MacBook comes back (with the new top case) I will be trading it away :)
Update #3: Recieved the Apple return box this morning, shipped out the MacBook at about 3am... should be there tomorrow, and back to me either Thursday or Friday
Update #4: Apple has repaired the computer and shipped it back to me, I should have it either tomorrow (Thursday) or on Friday :)

i'm trying to sell my 15" PB (the one in my sig) to get a MB, but i'm really hoping for a 2.0 machine, preferably black... otherwise, you'd have a PM from me!
seems like a good deal, though.

What are you looking for for specs? (screen size, type of drive, etc)

Well anything really, I'm just looking to see what people would be willing to offer, and then go from there :)

I have the PowerBook G4 in my signature below. It is absolutely mint condition with the exception of one little scratch on the top lid (but it is hardly noticeable).
I would be interested in trading for your MacBook. Does it have any of the trademark MB problems that everyone else has been having.
Let me know if you are interested. You can IM me at jthldh6187 (AIM)

To clarify, I have a MacBook instead of a MBP :)
Also, it does not exhibit the whine, but does have the Moo (hardly noticable really... my friends is much more intense), which should be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

I have the PB in my sig that I could be interested in trading. It also still has just about a month under 2 years left on Applecare and is in close-to-mint condition. I may also be able to throw in some other goodies, but we would have to see. PM with any questions or interest.

I have the 15" PB in my signature that I have been considering selling for a MB/MBP. It has a new battery and new logic board, both courtesy of Apple, both within the last few months.

Rather upsetting and disheartening update right now....
Bought my MacBook out of its case today when I got home, looked at it under some fluorescent lighting and noticed...
IT HAS STAINS!
Arrrgggggghhhhh, now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place -- IF Apple will take it back and give me another that would be great, and I will go through with this, but I doubt anybody wants to deal with a stained MacBook now. Arrghh I'll get to replying to everybody's PMs, but right now I am super frustrated. I hope to god they will take it back tomorrow when I stop at the Apple Store =|
*sigh*
Sorry for wasting everybodys time.

Any possibility of getting pictures that show the stains in case Apple will not replace it? I may still be interested depending on the scope of the staining (though it would obviously be more desireable without the stains).

Finally all PM's replied to, and the original post has been updated to reflect what is going on :)
If still interested or if anybody else is, shoot me a PM, and Ill keep this thread (and you) updated on the status of the top case replacement :D

As it stands right now, there are 14 different offers =)
On the first day when I put this up, a couple folks messaged me on iChat, and unfortunately I did not save your screen names, so if you could (whichever of you are still interested) shoot me a PM that would be excellent... as nerdy as it is, I'm putting all the offers in a spreadsheet, to see who is offering what.
Unfortunately Apple can't ship my RMA box to me on the weekend, so thats the state we're in now. Thank you for everybody that has messaged me, I'll keep you all updated =)
