Hey everybody, I'm looking to bump up the speed of my Beige G3 a little bit, and want to get a G4 to pop in there. I'd prefer a G4 pulled from a Yikes G4, since that'll probably be cheaper than a third party one.

I don't have a lot of dough for this, and if I don't get any good offers in the next few days, will probably just get a 400 or 450Mhz G3 off of eBay cheap instead.

But you know, figured I'd give this a shot first.

So do you have a 300mHz b/w G3? I'm not positive that the zifs from a yikes or another b/w will work in a beige, you may want to double check...

I have a 350mHz pulled from a G3 b/w, and I can tell you how to overclock it (I had it safely overclocked to 450ish, but it may vary based on motherboard). Otherwise, search Ebay, you can get up to 1gHz G3s and possibly that high G4s for b/w machines (I know they go to at least 700 on G4)...

Yeah, i asked around before posting this, and people said a G4 pull would work, but the L2 cache would be disabled. I'm just looking for a cheap, small bump for this G3, nothing like the 1Ghz. It runs ok now, but a few more Megahertz couldn't hurt.
