Civilization IV: Playing against an opponent with a PC

Hello,

Excuse me if this was already answered, I could not get any response from my searches.

If I buy the Mac version of Civilization IV, can I play over the Internet with a friend that has the PC version?

I would preferably prefer to be able to than to install Boot camp and install Windows XP and have to buy a PC version. Buying the Mac version of a game sends a message that people want them on Mac too!

I believe so, the reviews so far have said so, my copy hasn't yet arrived so I can't check for you.

Yes. Aspyr has said many times that playing over the Internet with a PC user is up high on their priorities list. On CivFanatics.com, people have talked about playing online on a Mac, and considering 99% of the people playing Civ IV online are probably Windows users, it works.

Note that there is no Gamespy broswer; the only way to play with PC people is using a direct IP connection. Kind of misleading, as it says "powered by Gamespy" on the box.
