doom 3 better on windows?

hi there. i've been playing with doom 3 in os x and in windows and if i play it in windows it goes much faster. how does it make sense?

Hmm, I've found from my own experience the opposite is true. the run down -

12" stock PowerBook. 512mb ram. FX Go5200 64mb.
Runs Doom at 640*480, everything on medium. no AA. runs well

15" Gericom laptop. P4 3.2ghz. 512mb ram. FX Go5600 128mb.
Runs Doom at 640*480, everything on low/off. no AA. runs like a turd.

Windows has a much more highly speed-optimized code compared to Mac. But this is where we get in to Mac being more stable, reliable, and secure than Windows. We also have to remember that Quake3 was originally coded for Windows and rewritten for Mac. If it were originally compiled for Mac the different might be much less.
