Civilzation 3: Snore?

I got the game for three bucks and though it runs great on my macbook with only 512 ram, I can barely stand to play it.


I started as Japan. Is it just really slow? Any Civ fans have any tips?

Have you contacted any other races yet? What year in the game are you? The first 1000 years can sometimes be boring if you're on a large world with minimal outside contact. The best you can do is expand the best you can, establish cities, explore and seek out other races to trade/war with. Once the map gets sufficiently saturated with cities, it usually gets more interesting and complicated.

However, by that time, if you're still finding the game boring, it just might not be the type of game for you.
