I've found this gamepad lying around the depths of Amazon.co.uk : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000075B5U/sr=1-17/qid=1154690060/ref=sr_1_17/202-4114028-2296617?ie=UTF8&s=videogames

Having finally come to the conclusion that playing emulators on a keyboard is rubbish, I'm looking for a versatile gampepad that I can use mainly for NES/SNES, Mega Drive (Genesis to the Yanks), Master System, Gameboy and perhaps MAME (though I don't actually have that emulator yet).

Do you reckon this controller will do the job? I won't be using it for any modern games, mind you.

That controller should work fine for NES/SNES games. I use a similar one for emulators, and it's wayyy better than using a keyboard. Does it have shoulder buttons though? You'll probably need them for a few SNES games.
