I think the cable of my apple pro mouse is become defective or lose at mouse end. Does anyone know how to open up the mouse?

If I wiggle the cable a bit the mouse turns of, and it also turns of when I use it sometimes.

Is it less than a year old? Would it be covered by warranty or Apple Care?

Just a thought before you try surgery.

mine's like that too, it jumps around and turns off every now and then. i'm past my 90 days of phone support, so if i call applecare regarding a new mouse, will they charge me?

That should be no charge as it's a hardware call. Or if you live near an Apple Store, you could talk to them.

It's already nearly two years old. So it isn't covered.

This also happens to a mouse at school.

If I don't hold this mouse properly, the curser also jumps around the screen some of the time.

this is a well known weakness of pro mice. i really doubt you'll have luck opening and closing it-- probably just better to buy a new one. But if you go that route, you might as well try to open it, for curiosity's sake..

if it were me, i'd get a very tiny flat screwdriver and just start gently prying things up, until it becomes clear how it's held together. a magnifying glass can help. but there's always the chance that it's sealed shut--
