I'm looking for a 17" Powerbook thats in pretty good shape. Any model, even first gen, is fine. Its replacing my backup Titanium Powerbook that has just given up on life, so as a secondary CPU I'm looking for a good deal. With Applecare, without, with accessories or whatever, I'll consider just about anything reasonable.

EDIT: Just to clarify, this machine is in addition to my MBP 15" and is for web surfing, DVDs etc, so I just want something non-critical to travel with.

Are you only looking for 17" PowerBooks as the title indicates, or would you be willing to consider a 15" as well?

Really wanting a 17". I already have a 15" MBP, so I just want something with a big screen.

why not just get an external for your MBP and be done with it? cheaper, more screen real estate, and you won't have to take a performance hit just for 2 inches..

Because I'm not looking to replace my computer, I'm looking for a second computer to stay on a desk most of the time or when I travel for casual web browsing and movies. The MBP is for serious work, I want the 17" for simple stuff.

So no one is interested in selling one of their old(er) 17"ers?

Hmm, I'm really not sure. I've been up in the air about it for awhile now. I have no idea what you or anyone would pay for my machine. This is an uber-feeler.

17" Rev. D Powerbook (just before High Res)
1.67 GHz
1440x900 res
1.5 GB RAM
100 GB HDD 5400RPM
Airport/BT
Great condition with no noticable flaws.

Make me an offer, but I'm really really not sure I want to sell.

On eBay the prices are around $1200 for a decent loadout. I suppose I'm looking somewhere in the area of $1000 - $1200.

Hmm, yeah. I'd have to have closer to 1400 to tempt me to sell, but I don't think that's likely in these Intel days.
