So here is the deal. I'm currently trying to part with my 12" Powerbook, and I'm wondering how to maximize my profits. I'm wondering if selling off each item separately would be best, or trying to sell it as the Ultimate mobile package.

Here is what I would include
1. 12" PB 1.33Ghz
1.25GB Ram
80GB 5400 HD
Superdrive
Airport Ext & Bluetooth
A few small paint scuffs and scratches
Screen in perfect condition, No dents or dings

2. Brenthaven Deluxe Pro Shoulder Bag
The one Apple used to sell on its website specifically for the 12"
Bag features a sleeve, folder dividers, pockets galore, lifetime warranty

3. All video adapters for the Powerbook
Mini DVI - VGA
Mini DVI - DVI
Mini DVI - S-Video/Composite

4. Extra battery
Total package comes with 2 batteries
Both with 92%+ charge remaining

5. Extra Power Adapters (2)
Total package comes with 3 45W Power Adapters
One adapter does not have the extension portion

6. 30GB iPod Video
Purchased in February of this year, still under warranty

7. 20GB Lacie Data Bank
I love this to death, but it matches nicely with the Powerbook
4200RPM, looks like a little bar of silver, Firewire/USB Bus powered
Includes both USB and Firewire cables

And why not....just for fun

8. Kensington USB Wireless Travel Mouse

I was hoping to get somewhere in the realm of $1000-$1100 for the entire package.

Does anyone think this is reasonable, or have I had too much coffee this morning at work.....:p

I think 1100$ for this package definitely seems reasonable.

I think $1100 is way too cheap for all this...I'd go $1300 at least, but that's just me.

EDIT: In fact, you'd probably make a heck of a lot more money by selling all these things separately. You'd appeal to a lot more buyers too. I'm interested in a few of the individual items you've listed, in case you decide to break things up.

What do people think about just selling the powerbook As-Is?

What is that worth?

I have watched e-bay for 12" powerbooks, but most look like scams, and there is absolutely no consistency.

If anything, I'll also try Craigslist, but need to get an idea of what it is worth.

what about just the powerbook with only 1 battery and adapter?

Just for the laptop itself, I'd say something like $800. Maybe. Some people wouldn't pay more than $600 for it, while others might pay up to $1000. It really depends on the buyer and at what they value it.

I am interested in everything but the iPod and the bag. I have been trying to figure out the smartest way to replace a 15" powerbook I have that has fallen into the hands of my children and now is quite a bit worse for wear. I stumbled into this forum and saw your post. I am in Boston so I think we could make the exchange fairly straightforward depending on how far up into New Hampshire you are.I am a new memeber here but I imagine the thread is not the prefered place to work out a price. I will send you my email address privatelyand hopefully we can work something out. Thanks, Bob

I have figured out that a "feeler" thread is not an offer to sell. I think that my offer to purchase was inappropiate. I would like to rescind my offer to purchase. Sorry if I showed bad forum form.

Feeler just means it's not definite. I would say it's fine to go ahead and make an offer. It just means you have to expect that the person might decide not to sell.

I appreciate everyone's interest.

At the advice of many members, I have decided that I will be better off selling items individually. Right now I'm in the middle of figuring out what is left.

I'm pretty sure someone is already purchasing the powerbook with a few other items, but when I get confirmation, I'll change this to a FS thread and list the remaining items.

Thanks

Sorry, I just got rid of my G5 iMac, so I don't really need another

I'm trying to consolidate all my Mac products to just a Macbook and possibly a Nano

Is any of this stuff still available? I wasn't originally interested (well, I was, but didn't have a reason to buy then), but I may be interested now. Thanks :)

P.S. Sent you a PM ;)
