I have for sale a 1.5 month old 100GB 5400rpm 2.5" Hitachi Travelstar hard drive. I bought it from Newegg at the beginning of July. I am also including my Mapower aluminum firewire and USB enclosure with cables and leather pouch. It is a very nice-looking, quality enclosure.

The hard drive can be found here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822145092).
The enclosure can be found here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145156).

They both work great with no problems whatsoever.

I am asking for $100 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48.

I will sell the 100GB 2.5" HD seperate from the enclosure for $80 shipped. It has 2 years a 11 months warranty left and costs $20 less than new. It is in prefect condition.

Will you sell the enclosure for $20 shipped then? I would be interested in the enclosure, but don't have a big need for another drive.

No, if I sold just the drive I would reuse the enclosure myself. I am just throwing in the enclosure to try and move the.

Surely there is someone out there who wants to upgrade their hard drive to this spiffy new 100GB 5400rpm drive with close to 3 years warranty left.

The drive you linked to above isn't SATA, so if that is the drive, you wouldn't be able to u/g the internal drive in your Macbook, right?

Good point. I didn't even think about the new drives being SATA.

will this work off of bus power? no compatibility issues with a mac book pro? if you answer yes to both, then let me know where to send the money :)

Yes, the reason I bought this was because I wanted a backup solution that didn't require me to carry around a power brick. All it requires is to be plugged into a USB 2.0 or Firewire port on you computer. It is completely bus-powered. I am sending a PM as well.

I haven't heard anything back from thestaton so this item is still for sale.

If I could get more video jobs, I'd probably take this.

I do video on the side for wedding, special occasions, etc. But, an 80 GB is a bit small to work with. However, I haven't had a job in months. And even if I got one now, I probably wouldn't take it because marching season has started.

One of my director's favorite things to say is, "October is spelled B-A-N-D." And it sure seems like it.

List on eBay here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&item=110025235748&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1). I will still make a deal to Mac Rumors members as long as the item is still available for sale.

Sorry, it was sold earlier today. Since there wasn't much interest, I didn't see any reason to dredge it up again.
