Okay, so I've come upon this Triniton (I think that's it) monitor that my dad got in our 1996 maxed-out computer. No one uses it anymore, because 21" + CRT = HEAVY! Honestly, my dad and I had a hard time moving it anywhere, you would need some serious muscles and balance to move it by yourself.

Note, I have neither permission nor modus operandi to sell it yet, just looking for a ballpark to present to the parental units.

I don't know if this means anything to anyone, but it has these inputs on the back that look like really old skool coax, and they're labeled R G B, and two more I think. If anyone's interested, I can go look.

EDIT: I got bored so I looked, the other two are COMP. HD and VS or something. There's also a switch for 1K and I think 750 ohms. There's another port labeled SERIAL.

As for its condition, it has some scuff marks on top, but it works fine.

Those inputs are the VGA signal broken up - projectors and older HDTVs have the same inputs.

Well,

FWIW, you can buy a NEW 21" CRT for ~ $200-300 nowadays.......so seeins how yours is 10+ yrs old, used and scuffed up, I'd say it's probably worth ~$50-$75, but ONLY if sold locally, because it would cost almost that much to pack & ship safely, so IMO thats not feasible.......

try craiglist, if they have a listing for your area, or the newspaper classified :)

and FYI, Trinitrons are excellent monitors, Apple used them inside their 21" Studio CRTs for several years :D

Well, the brand is actually Vivitron, but I guess that doesn't matter anymore.

Thanks for the advice. Mods may close the thread.

I was in similar position to yourself, had a 21" gateway CRT that wasn't used and was heavy and cumbersome. Unfortunetly you cant just scrap these things, and it's hard to find someone with the desk space for one of these nowadays so...... I simply gave it to charity shop and solved my problem....

Yeah, I had two 17" Apple CRTs.. still in good condition, they're just hard to find buyers for. We sold 'em to some guy locally for $10 bucks each just to get them out of the closet.
