I just sole my old Powermac G4, and display and am going to be shipping it today, Has anyone ever shipped a computer and display before? Do you think it would be ok to ship them in the same box, if I put lots of peanuts between them and cover the screen with thick cardboard to protect it? Im just nervouse that someone will turn it upside down so the computer is on top and display on the bottom, and im not sure if the peanuts will be enought protection from the computer breaking the LCD, this computer weights like 40Lb :) What do you think 2 seperate boxes, or one big box?

Go with two separate boxes...and cram as many peanuts in there as possible...and then you might be okay. (:

i think you know the answer to that question. Use two seperate boxes and don't take the cahnce with one.

Use blocks of styrofoam as well to keep the display and computer in the center of the box - peanuts move around.

Bubble wrap is another option..

combine what these people are saying :P two separate boxes. Wrap the display with something so it doesn't get scratched, like bubble wrap, and use something like firm foam blocks to keep it propped in place and add the peanuts if you want to fill it up. same goes for the powermac. :D

go with the ol' larger box with smaller boxes inside routine. put the other itmes inside boxes, then put them in a bigger box with peanuts around them.

I'm a shipping manager and that's what I would recommend myself.

2nd that! use seperate boxes, LOTS of bubble wrap, styro AND peanuts.
And insure it for 1.5 - 2x the actual value + shipping costs!
