Hey all, looking for one of the G4 iMacs to buy or possibly trade for in the UK - need it cheap so not worried about the spec or screen size. Hit me up with an offer if you'vve got one to shift.

I've got a G4 15" imac 800mhz,256 ram, combo, 40 gig hard drive, ORIGINAL discs. It is in beautiful condition. Keyboard and mouse also included. Don't have the original box though. No problems at all with the machine, runs very quite.
Would prefer a trade, what have you got?:)

What you looking for MacHappyMeal? I think that's the best way to go - if I don't have stuff I could probably acquire it from a friend at work :)

Anything Apple orientated, ipods, nano, older ibook/powerbook (G3), whatever tickles my fancy:p . My iMac is a truly nice example and shows no flaws at all.

Alternatively make a cash offer. Will have a check on Ebay and see what they go for and am happy to undercut those prices to avoid fees.
Edit - forgot to mention that the iMac comes with the Harman Kardon speakers as well.

Running Tiger well. Discs are the original 10.1 and 9.2. I also have a Tiger Retail disc.

It is hard to gauge a price but I'd be interested in what other macrumor members think.

Well, around 500, maybe 600 is a good deal. The iMac goes for about 550 on eBay, but he has all the goods too, like the Harmon Kardon speaker, tho if up to me, I would leave out, becuase I would be using my Big Bass Bumpers anyway. And the fact he includes the OSX Tiger Update, along with the original restore discs is awesome too.
But to be completely sure, you would have to post us some pics, like a few pics of the computer itself, and a pic of all the accorises it comes with, and a pic of the whole package, everythying he/she will be getting for their money.
I am loooking to get a G4 soon, but my money is a little tight right now, so I have to hold off on the "lamp". But if I had the money now, I would buy it for about 550 without the speakers.
Just my opinion.

Correction - it is the 700mhz model not the 800mhz.
I'll try and load some pictures -

...do you think that a 17" G4 iMac could form the basis of a halfaway decent media centre/TV&DVD replacement? I quite fancy picking one up, tricking it out with an Eye TV and external firewire drive, linking it up to my hi-fi and getting rid of all my nasty grey/silver goods.
Reasonable or not?

[off topic to original thread] That's what I've done with my iMac (20" Intel). It's my hifi, TV, DVD Player, DVR, photo viewer...it's awesome! You can use front row for most things, and then EyeTV has it's new front row lookalike thing which is pretty good.
I control it all from my phone through salling clicker and a couple of custom scripts. It all works seamlessly!

It seems ideal> I've got a few ebay sales coming in at the minute that I need to assess the worth of first before I can really make an offer. As I say, money's tight and this is just a backup :)
