I've got a bit of upgrade-itis and am considering an upgrade to an Intel Mac... I'm eyeing a new (Core Duo) mini or MacBook...

So I'd like to see what I could get in cash and/or trade for my current setup (which is all in my sig, but I will repeat here for clarity):

mini G4 1.42ghz w/
-1gb RAM
-80gb HDD
-SD
-AE
-USB BT module
120gb (7200rpm, 8mb cache) miniStack FW HDD and USB hub
19" Dell 'UltraSharp' display
Wallstreet G3 250mhz/368mb/6gb/WiFi (PCMCIA card)

I'd consider all trades (w/ or w/o additional cash) for Core Duo minis or MacBooks with SD, or outright sales.

I'd take your Mac Mini...depending on how much your looking to sell it for.

I would like to know how much outright for the mini as well. I want one that has a superdrive and a bigger hard drive than the one I have now

I will def buy the ram off you, or give you a 512mb stick and add a bunch of cash.

Well, I checked on eBay and similar minis are selling for at least $500+shipping, so I'd start there. I have all the original packaging, etc. If I upgrade to a laptop or an iMac I'll try to sell the whole lot (mini, external HDD, LCD, keyb, mouse) before I part it out.

okay, can you let me know, how much cash could i or would i add if i gave you a 512mb stick. that way ppl could get a better deal and may not need the 1gb stick.
I also would be very interested in your mini stack.

Now that the new mini's are out I'm seriously considering selling mine for an Intel model.

I'm looking at the mini (1.42ghz, 1gb, 80gb HDD, SD, AE), 15" Gateway LCD, and perhaps a basic mouse (optical of course) and keyboard... I'd like to see about $500+actual shipping for the set. Is that reasonable?

Also wanted to add that I would consider trades for Core Duo minis (I'd come up with cash of course). I'd also be interested in a trade for a MacBook with SD. Could include an Apple keyboard and 19" LCD in the trade for a MacBook.

I could also include the Wallstreet in my sig to sweeten any trades or sales. ;)

No PMs from you, but you were on my ignore list for some reason. I took you off so it should work now... sorry, not sure why you were on there!

mrgreen4242,

I guess you stuck it out with the mini longer than I kept that buzzing iMac G5 ;-)

Hahaha. I warned you about the iMac! :p The mini's still a nice machine, I just want a little oompf for some video encoding work.

Sorry I haven't replied to all of the people who have PM'd me in the last week. I was considering all my options for upgrading my current setup given my available resources and wasn't able to give definitive answers to your inquiries.

At this point I am unsure that I would be able to sell my mini for enough to get my fund up to the minimum I would need to get a 20" iMac, and even if I could if I would want one (as opposed to the 24" which I definitely can't afford and also considering that I'm not a huge fan of the iMac form factor).

Conversely, I could buy a refurb mini Core Duo without having to sell my current mini, which would mean I could replace my wife's Dell...

So, as a result, I'm currently in a holding pattern and leaning towards not selling my PPC mini. Sorry for any 'wasted time', but the post was, after all, a feeler to begin with.
