just wondering...how is the blackbook running on a single 512 stick? i thought all macbooks (sans pro) required 2 identical sticks running side by side in order to operate (because of how the video memory integrates with it)...

thanks for the help...mike

it's not.

it's currently running on 1.5gb but I'm keeping the 1gb stick for my mbp.
it has always run perfectly fine on 1.5gb though.

the macbooks can run with different ram on each side or just one piece. it just runs better with paired ram. we have put a 1 piece 512 along side the 256 and it runs fine. no major notice in speed difference. but we are doing mostly word and web browsing.

Desperate to get a new Mac - so want the BlackBook ideally - how much are you looking for? Minus student discount and £100 for the free Nano on the Apple store, it works out as £903. How much in light of that?

I'd be happy to let it go to a good home for £900 even, then you're getting the RAM upgrade for free.

Then re-read the part in the first post that says make a sensible offer, and feel free to make one :)

It's one pound less for a refurb direct from Apple, can't justify the extra expense and can't really make it to that price anyway. Sorry.

Would you take £850 cash for the blackbook. I am in Bolton and could come down to collect it tomorrow afternoon (Sat).

"...don't waste my time offering to trade your iPod mini and a kitkat." I am not making an offer but thought this was hilarious.
