View Full Version : Forum acting up?

Is it just me or is the forum all screwed up? Dukestreets 'tar has been replaces with a file icon and his star is now animating the "Subscribe to this thread" link. The normal smiley is now iJon's avatar and his 'tar is now Scem0's tar. And the profile button is missing. Somebody hacked the forum? Or is it just a problem with data corruption?

Take a screen shot, this should be interesting, also try clearing your internet cache, or redownloading your browser.

It's a common problem with the unreleased versions of Safari... you're going to have to live with it.. or go back to the old Safari.

I chose to live with it... for the moment.

Looks exactly the same here, is there something wrong with how it looks? (I NEVER visit the front page).

The front page looks the same on my machine though the rest of the site appears normal.

macfreek57

yes the same is happening to me on ie and safari.
i think the main page is temporarily somewhat "down" or being edited (or possibly hacked).
i don't think it's a browser or html display problem (safari does seem to have them a little too often for regular use, in my opinion).

I can't get the site to come up using Netscape. I get "The document contains no data." I also get the weird home page with Safari.

I hope that arn is having a nice weekend with his new wife, he certainly deserves the time.

After I 1st posted here in this thread, then I had trouble in the "Funny Pictures" thread. I couldn't upload my picture X2 & my Avatar wasn't working. But I could still post OK! :)

Thank you eyelikeart for your good work for the forum! ;)

For all of you know never look at the main page it contains realistic news...

What is showing up on the main page right now it arns old news...

It seems there is some massive glitch or some update that re-builds the main page or...
worst case senerio a hackage on main page.

Very weird...

Actually I think the frontpage is the way it is suppose to be. The list shown is always at the bottom of the page it's just below the current news. I think since Arn wasn't going to be around he removed all the current news and filed it under the old stuff and left the page that way so it would be ready for updating when he returned.

Mar 29, 2003, 07:49 PM
no there has been other articles/news posted since the first one on the list. that's dated 3/24

Maybe, but I doubt it. You'll notice that all of the news that's currently visible is dated 3/24 or above. That's the stuff that was at the bottom yesterday. This week's articles are nowhere to be found. They're not under old news, and they're definitely not posted to the main page as headlines. Oh well, I guess we'll find out what's going on come Monday. As long as the page is up and running for the new iPods on Tuesday... ;)

Yeah, I figured it had to be the cache when nobody was experiencing it. Anyway, emptied the cache and it's all fine now.

Oh, and duke, "star" was the closest thing I could come up with. What do you call it?:)

"The Document contains no data"

That's all I got earlier today. It happens quite a bit, actually, and on a few different machines/ OS's.

Damn, it just went like before, the only browser that I can view the forums in is Safari, IE6 on my PC doesn't work and neither does Phoenix (so I would assume that other Gecko based browsers couldn't either)

What was the exact problem last time?

I claim responsibility for the problems on behalf of the PPP. The page will remain in disarray until we are paid the sum of... one MILLION dollars! Hahahahahaha!
