For sale: Gateway Tablet PC

PRICE REDUCTION x3!!!

Gateway Convertible Tablet Notebook, 1.73 GHz, 60 GB hard drive, 512 MB RAM, wireless ready with 802.11g card built in. Nifty computer has screen that rotates around and collapses back over the keyboard to create a "book" like experience. You can surf the web, take notes, and run applications with the tablet pen. Includes restore disk for MS Windows XP Tablet Ed. 2005, MSOffice One Note, and original documentation. Purchased from CompUSA with 2 year "TAP" (Technology Assurance Program) warranty that will expire in Nov. '07. Essentially, if the computer breaks, you take it to CompUSA and they will repair it. I will transfer the warrranty to purchaser. This is peace of mind for you and your machine. The computer was $1,700 new in Nov. '05.

The computer shows wear and tear. The case shows many scratches, and the keyboard was glazed with gold paint, now wearing away. All the keys work well, and the screen is immaculate. The PCMIA slot "eject" button broke off - you need to use a pen to eject any card you'll put in there (but it still ejects). See photos below.

I'm selling because I no longer need a Windows computer.

I would consider a trade for a 12-13 inch Macintosh notebook + cash (Macbook, Powerbook, or G4 iBook). My parents run a jewelry business, and they have let me use their Paypal account in the past. They, of course, have an excellent record. Otherwise, I'd prefer a local transaction (I live in St. Louis, MO).

You can buy this unit refurbed for $699 (plus tax) and that doesn't get you a year's full warranty protection.
Price reduction: $650 ---> $600 ---> $550 ---> $500

How much are you looking to get?

I'm asking $650. This is based on the very few eBays sales of this particular item, and the fact that you can pick it up for $699 refurb. Remember, this computer comes with a warranty that's similar to AppleCare, and it's good till Nov. '07. I'd almost prefer a trade, though. How about your iBook?

As stated in the OP, price reduced from $650 ---> $600.

As an aside, I've gotten no less than 3 completely obvious scam offers from my Craigslist ad. People don't even read the ad, asking about price (very clear in the ad) and condition (I've tried to be clear about that, as well). It's kind of startling, really.

I'm kinda interested on this one. But until I get enough money in 2 weeks, I won't be able to make any offer.
So if you don't get to sell it in 2 weeks, PM me :)

I'd trade the imac G4 in my signature if you are interested, but it looks like you only want a laptop. That does seem like a very good price. I wish I had the cash to buy it!

Thanks for the responses, and sorry about the tardy replies. I think I've grown a bit discouraged by the lack of response to my "for sale". Even on Craigslist, like I mention above, I only gotten scammers. And, really inept scammers at that. I do think it's a good price, so I'm a bit surprised. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to generate more interest in this, without resorting to eBay?

Anyways. I really do want a laptop in trade. That's the ideal situation. My wife would like a computer for her classroom (she just started teaching), and a 12-13 inch iBook/Macbook would be ideal. We could pony-up some cash, but it'd be nice to see an older iBook (preferably G4) in direct trade. So, I can't accept an iMac, though that'd be nice. And, gurutech, I'll PM you in a few weeks if it's still around. Thanks again. Rodney

As you can see, price reduced from original asking price of $650 to $550. Again, I'd like to trade for a 12-13 Mac notebook. Again, this machine has a "warranty" left that's got a little more than a year in it. Peace of mind, and a fun little machine. Rodney

Amazing price.

My store (Best Buy) sells this exact model for about 1300 before taxes.

I suspect it's a good price, too. Thanks for the good press.

Ok, 3rd price reduction. This is more sales than blue light KMart. This is the deal of a lifetime (well, at least of this chapter in your life). Step up and make an offer. Again, I'd prefer a trade for 12-13 inch G4 iBook, al PB, or MacBook + cash.

Do you happen to have any larger pictures, something that shows a little more detail? I might be interested in this, but I'd like to see it a little more up close. If you don't feel like posting them here, you can always e-mail me @ danehenry*at*gmail.*com.

Thanks!
