Okay everyone here is a thread to find out who on macrumors can actually wiggle their ears. I amaze the class I teach because of my ability to wiggle my ears and I can wiggle each one separately. Some kids think it looks gross. Anyhow just curious on who can do it? Also, why can some people do it and others can't? People ask me how I can do it and I don't have any idea, I just can.

I cannot wiggle my ears. I've tried, but it looks like I'm trying to self-destruct my head when I do!
also...how about that one eyebrow raise thing? any takers on that?
cannot do that one either...heh... ;)

The only one that I know that could wiggle his ears was my maternal grandfather. If I remember correctly he could wiggle them independently. I was fascinated by his ability. But like the rest so far I can't. The only I can move my ears at all is by moving my jaw! :p

Ah, the glory of the cynical eyebrow, many a student silenced in mid-rant by the simple lifting of my left brow:D
Still can't wiggle my ears though, how about rollig your tongue into a tube?

I can't independently lift my eyebrow either. Don't even know what rolig you tongue into a tube is, but probably can't do that either.

Sorry, my typo, should read "rolling your tongue".
Try it, roll your tongue into a tube and blow down it, don't worry if you can't, it's actually a genetic trait, if one of your parents could do it, you can.:p

These would all fall under stupid human tricks, and they're not that good either. Can't say that I can do either of those things, ears or eyebrows. Always remember when I was little in the original Star Trek when Spock would do the eyebrow.....

That's exactly where I got it from, I spent weeks trying to get it right and looking like a gurning fool, then it sort of happened, been able to do it ever since.
It's almost as useful as a good overhand right cross...:D

As I said before I am an excellent ear wiggler, I can roll my tongue with no problems as well. I can raise my left eyebrow but can't my right. Actually all my left movement in my face is better then my right. I think the whole ear and eyebrow thing just has something to do with how you have your facial muscles trained. The tongue I think is genetic. Oh I can wiggle something else too...but we won't go there!!!!

Yey.... I can wiggle my ears, and I can do the one raise eyebrow thing (and it works exactly like WinterMute says.... it's the perfect expression!!
Whilst I'm on a roll, I can also put both of my legs behind my head (I'm not the smallest or thinnest, or most agile of dudes either) and can also, when sitting in that Yoga come Buddha position when you cross and fold you legs so that each foot rests on each knee, I can then rise, balance and walk on my knees for as long as I want!! :D
I can't roll my tounge though..... that's for freaks!! :D :p

But then there's that Spock hand salute thingy.... I can do that as well.... with both hands... :D :p
I can also pat my head and rub my tummy!!
I should take my quirks out on a roadshow...!! :p :p :p
But I can't hold down a decent beat on the drums, everything follows everything else...

I can kind of wiggle my ears, and I can kind of raise my eyebrows
one at a time, but it makes me look like I'm trying to self-destruct
my head ;). My whole jaw moves when I 'wiggle' my ears.

When my grandfather wiggled his ear/ears, he didn't make any other facial movements!
Those with special tricks should apply to be on the "David Letterman Show" when he has his stupid human tricks segments. I will root for any of you that are willing! ;)

The closest I come to wiggling my ears involves moving most of my facial muscles.
The stupid human tricks that I can do are mostly in my feet. I can move my smallest toe on my right foot over the toe next to it. I can also move most of my toes independently. :) I am even able to tie a pair of shoes (Not on my feet) with my toes. :D Talk about useless unless I loose both of my hands and then I have to tie my kids shoes. :p
My mom says two things about my feet. First, I didn't get them from her. And secondly, they are not far removed from the trees. :) I think both of my boys have my feet. Dominate genes I guess...

Like my mom says, not far removed from the trees. :D
My wife thinks it is gross. I don't know what is gross about feet. I think she is just jealous.... :p
