Pretty simple. Looking for some lenses to add to my collection. AKA I have one lens and would like something kind of wide 17mm to 20mm. Something macro and something zoom, maybe if someone has a cheaper tamron 70-300 they wanna let go of. Actually kind of looking for a nikkor 50mm 1.8 as well. So yeah, doesn't need to be autofocus or anything, would just love to do something besides the one lens I have (18mm-70mm nikkor) and will work with the D70s and be reasonably priced. PM me or post here with any offers. Will only pay with paypal and within North America!

thanks a ton!

I'd think you'd want AF though, since the D70S exposure meter requires CPU contacts to function.

Unless you are like I was, and are really into manual everything.

I wouldn't say manual everything, but if I could find a good deal on a wide lens, but it's an old guy, no biggie. I can focus a lens, I went to film school and shot 16mm with nothing but prime lenses, but I don't think I'll shoot anything with my d70 requiring a tape measure and a book of focal lengths...

so yeah, open to anything really!

Get a tokina 12-24. Greatest lens for the price.

I prefer the Sigma 10-20 for even less.

Just an advice, the D70's viewfinder is not really nice for manual lenses. I use some extensively, but at times you just have to guess and shoot a bunch of pictures and then keep the good one...
ebay should be full of nice manual lenses, just make sure they are Ai or later.

ooooh, thanks! I actually bought the 50mm nikkor 1.8D AF, I saw a bunch of the older manual lenses on there, but figured I would spend the extra twenty and get an autofocus version and brand new at that!

Ill keep it in mind though

I'll second what Maxi said. the D70 viewfinder is probably the reason that my right eye went from degenerating in line with my left, to degenerating 3-4x faster than the left one.

It's since gone back to the 1:1 ratio, but only AFTER I got rid of the D70.

I spend a lot of time doing manual focus with the D70, and I think the eyestrain did it. 26,000 photos.

the D200 and D1/D2 series cameras are much better for manual focus, plus they all meter.

with the D70 the green dot is your friend with manual focus :)
