heres the specs,
its the standard mac pro with dual 2.66 ghz proc's. it has the nvidia 7300 video card. i added wireless airport and bluetooth from the factory (which makes it unreturnable since it was 'customized.')

i lowered the hd down from 250 to 160 gb. the i bought a 250 western digital hd to put in it. so it has a 250 gb and a 160 gb hd in it.
no straches, dings etc, still have box, plastic wrap, keyboard, mouse, everthing down to the stickers in the box.

total price with tax if you bought it from apple.com and the hd from newegg.com would total 2711.78

reason im wanting to sell.
i got this on sept the 25th. it it basically brand new. you wouldnt be able to tell it was used. took it out, put in the hd, and havent touched it since basically.

well, the other sunday my wife started having bad head aches during church. theyve been off and on for a while but shes been trying to hold out. we have no insurance (we are both 22, been married about 14 months, i make 9.50 an hour, and she works at a grocery store).
well she was hurting really bad and we decided to go to the emergancy room. i knew it would be expensive but i didnt realize how much it would be.

well i got the bill today, 1906.00 !!!
5 hours in a waiting room and maybe we talked with a doctor 20 min at the most. they did a cat scan which took 5 min and all we get was a ' i dont see anything wrong, heres some strong pain meds to help you sleep tonight' and 'well be sending you a bill.'

technically we have the amount needed to pay the bill, but that will virtually zap our savings. and i would rather have a little cushin in savings then a computer i didnt really need to start with.

i dont know what shipping would be for this thing. if i will have to loose money to sell it i will probably just keep it. but if anyone was planning on getting a mac pro anyway, maybe would could get it from me instead of apple and save from paying tax to save a little bit.

any questions just ask.
thanks.

Have you tried calling Apple, to have it restocked?

May work out to be less hassle and less $ lost than selling privately.

EDIT: Ignore me - didn't read the first paragraph fully

He may have a problem with that, though, because it was BTO (250 to a 160).

i thought about calling them but someone else on here posted a mac pro for sale for somereason a few weeks ago (cant remember all the details) and seomhow he ordered 2 of them somehow.
but if i remember right he added bluetooth and that made it customized and he couldnt return them.

i did look on the fine print stuff on apples site and it said BTO stuff cant be returned :(

That sucks dude,

I got the bill for my emergancy room visit today. 800 bucks for an x-ray. Its crazy what they charge you for, 20 dollars for an advil, and 66 bucks for "supplies"

I have insurance, but I feel for you bro, hope you sell your machine.

That was mine. I went to eBay with it and got more than what I paid for it. I'd suggest that.

You're best bet to not lose any money will probably be Ebay. However, if you want to sell it through here you probably will get less. If you want to get rid of it quick then what price are you set on?

I work in the medical field and talk to their billing department. People who pay cash can ask for and usually receive a discount for services because there is no hassle of dealing with insurance companies that wont pay and they are happy to have a cash paying customer.

Also make sure they are billing you what they would an insurance group, sort of like getting a wholesale price versus retail. I know it sounds silly, but pour over your bill and try to haggle on every point.

If you want to get drastic, if you know a physician, have him look at your bill and see if everything was needed.

In the end it really isn't that big of a deal, as your wife is okay, but having a bill lowered and discounts applied is nothing new in this industry and more people are getting to know it.

It's bleedin criminal that you should have to pay for that in a so called 1st world country - you should move to the UK - we don't pay squat for our national health service. Now that's what I call civilized.

(Except in our taxes of course - but at least it ain't all being spent on guns and ammunition - if I had my way I'd do away with all these bleedin foreign exploits into Iraq and Afghanistan and save some dosh.)

Dammit - this kind of thing makes me mad, maaaad I tells yer.

just a note, this has nothing to do with the mac pro, hes refering to a trade we made for a part in my dual 450 g4.
just didnt want any to be confused.

how much are you thinking about getting for it. i've been looking for a mac pro, actually i prefer the 2.0 for budget reasons. but if the price is right, i might be in.
