I chipped my PS1 to use burnt games, it worked great, i had a friend do the actual soldering. I haven't worked up the nerve to chip my PS2.

I don't actually own either... well I used to own a Playstation....

My mum however has both a PSone and a PS2.... she's quite hardcore for a mum actually!!

But she's chipped neither.....

She will do though.... :D

what i want is a non-slot loading dvd drive so i can burn gamecube games... don't know if it is possible, but i bet it is.

i hate buying $50 games that are lost if they are scratched accidently. a backup would be nice.

ever heard of backing up gamecube games? i know it is off topic... but...

actually yes. this past weekend i put a matrix mod (no solder) in my xbox, and also threw in a 120 gig hdd to back up games.

i had my ps modded a few years ago via an external thing, it worked pretty well, but now i'm playin with the xbox. i dont plan on modding my ps2.

I know what you mean, it took me a while to get the balls to pull appart my xbox and start soldering, but I did it last night, and it works a treat! ;) :p :D

edit: BTW, I'm using the X-ecuter 2 Lite (http://www.xbox-chipz.co.uk).

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
Tiger Woods PGA TOURŪ 2003

Currently I only have:
Halo (It's the law you know, if you have an xbox you MUST have this game!)

With my new chip I expect my game collection to expand rapidly.

Sorry my friend, but it is near impossible, if not completely impossible, you see the GC does not actually use mini-dvds but a GOD (gamecube optical disc) which you can not get nor would you be able to burn onto them, then there is the inner encryption ring on the GOD which the gamecube console has to bypass before it will access the game so good luck getting some blank GOD discs and a GOD burner etc.
I'm sure one day that sort of equipment would become available, but probably not until the GC is histroy.
