Is the Apple Care available until October 14th, 2006? Because if that's the case, why would someone want to pay $120 for 4 days of use?

I think the OP means that 10/14/06 is the one year anniversary of the Mac, and so AppleCare can be bought for two years of extended coverage up until that date (so the AppleCare would run until 10/14/08).

FWIW I have this model of iMac and I really enjoy it. :) Good luck with your sale! Also P.S. you may want to mention which version of iLife (probably 2005?)..

That is correct. October 14 is the day the complimentary 1 year service expires. Apple Care can be purchased up to this date to extend for two more years.
I will purchase it for someone if they wish to have it included, to ensure it gets applied in time.
