I recently purchased this computer for my parents, but they now want something with a bigger screen and I cannot return it. I could not find this on Apple's site, so I think this might have been only available through schools/education. Here are the specs below:

iMac Intel Core Duo 1.83ghz
17" LCD Display
512MB DDR2 (PC-5300)
80GB HD
iSight Camera
Integrated Intel GMA950 graphics (64 MB of shared DDR2 SDRAM)
Combo DVD/CD-RW
Airport Extreme
No remote included.

Priced at only $750 + shipping for a quick sale.

Interested in this for my parents-in-law also ;) . What software is included? Also, isn't the graphics card 64 mb dedicated with additional shared? And, can you ship to Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I believe it comes with iLife 06. I do not understand what you mean about the graphics card? I will ship to Canada, but you are responsible for the costs and any customs fees.

Curren~Sea.... there were two models of the iMac Core Duo...the standard consumer model had dedicated x1600 GPU. This model apparently is the iMac version that was sold for a VERY short time to the public, and remained to be sold ONLY to EDUCATION/Schools....with the GMA950 graphics card.

This is a good deal by the way...i'm interested in this machine. Is there any applecare or original warranty on the machine left? Let me know. thanks!

Yes, it is brand new, so the warranty has 1 year left.

Wait... so the iMac is NOT OPENED AT ALL? If I bought an Apple Remote...would it work with this iMac? I believe the one year warranty is valid from the day you purchased the machine. What was the date you purchased the machine?

Yes, the iMac hasn't been opened at all. I would assume that if you just bought an Apple Remote, it would work. I cannot positively say yes however has I have not tried it. This was purchased last week.

Just because I bought it last week doesn't mean that all I can buy is the latest version.

I'm interested in the iMac and hopefully you can keep it in the box sealed still. I will let you know by this weekend. Will you accept Non-credit card Paypal? Can you include the receipt? If I want to puchase Applecare on it, is it possible being that its an EDU-only machine? Is there any type of warranty transfer that has to happen?

Yes, I will accept any form of PayPal payment. I would prefer not to include my receipt because it contains my information (name, address and credit card information). The iMac has never been registered, so you can register it in your name. Besides that, I think Apple only checks the serial number for warranty purposes.

I'm interested in this... is it still for sale? Do you have pictures or proof that it does exist? Not meaning to be rude, just not looking to be scammed.

I am wondering if you bought it last week why you don't take it back to the store... Did you purchase online? If it is unopened, why not send it back, or take it back and get your money. Even the 10% hit would net you more than you are selling on here for. Unless I am missing something, I see RED FLAGS...

Not trying to be a pessimist, just asking questions others have failed to ask to this point.

I found what I think is this same machine on the EDU store and it is indeed a Core 2 Duo. The icon on the side of the box should clear it up when you get a chance to check.

This is NOT the Core 2 Duo model. I am sure that the one I bought is the Core Duo model.

Question: Why doesn't it have a remote with it, as they all came with one since the 2nd Gen G5 iMacs.

It's an EDU model... what would a University or School need remotes for? Plus it helps keep the EDU cost lower than the iMac Core Duos at the time.

Hi
Since it is the educational model. Apple helped cut costs not only by using the GMA but also by removing the remote and Bluetooth. This model also had a smaller hard drive capacity and a Combo drive instead of a SuperDrive.

1. Not included with 17-inch iMac with a 1.83GHz processor.

So, even the Core 2 Duo 17" 1.83GHz GMA powered iMac doesn't include one.

P.P.S. The Intel GMA uses 80MB of main memory, 16MB buffer and 64MB graphics.

I think shipping will be ~$40 and it'll probably take 4 business days to get to you from SoCal.

Ok, well... last bit of questions...

Do you have references from this forum? The ones that have bought from you?

If I pay today, are you able to ship out today?

Can you PM me the serial number so I can check it out on the Apple Support page?

I just want to make sure because I want to make sure everything goes right. Thanks!

I cannot ship it out today as it's at my parents house. So the earliest that I can ship it out is tomorrow. I will not be accepting any online payments until I get the system in my hands this weekend and take pictures of it to post.
