I'm getting rid of my blackbook as my mbp arrived yesterday (I'm in love!)
Black Macbook
2.0Ghz
80gb HDD
1.5 RAM (Apple installed)
Bought - Begining of August
The Blackbook is unboxed with no insert box (so no manual/disks ect) but comes with all accessories (Charger, Remote ect) install disks can be sent from apple once you register the macboom as your own.
it has issues, no moo, no whine, no heat issues, no shutdown issues, it's been the perfect companion.
it also comes with a Tucano case in light grey which I bought from the apple store about 4 days before ordering my mbp (doh!) (RRP £25)
finally, it comes with a mini dvi - dvi cable for hooking it up to an external monitor (RRP £15)
£850 + shipping (or you can collect/meet locally)

is no one interested?
is there a reason why?
I though maybe a few people would be interested.

Well, I'd wager b/c you're in Europe, and most of the people here on MR are in the US. The shipping alone would be pricey, plus more of a hassle to ship. 900 pounds = $1,669, which is a tad expensive for your model here in the US. That's the reason I figure...

No install disks seem to be a problem for some, at least for me. What happens if I need to reformat?

definately interested.. but the lack of install /backup CD doesn't seal the deal..
why is there no CD? are you keeping it for yourself obviously?
Can I use the CD's I have for my iMac on the macbook? or is that not *legal*?

No, it's not a matter of legality, it's that Apple has it so that products' restore CDs only work on that line of products (ie: no, your iMac's restore CDs won't work on a MB). If you already own a macbook, then you're in luck. Otherwise you'll either need to find someone willing to part or loan you their restore CDs, call Apple and buy restore CDs from them, or buy a retail version of Tiger.

wow.. i didn't know that.. interesting..
so unlike windows, where the same version of windows works on desktops/notebooks, macs are tied to a line of products.. weird!
but when you go to the apple store web page, and select OS X: Tiger product, it doesn't ask you to specify if it's going to be used to Desktop or Notebook - so how would it work?

or buy a retail version of Tiger.
Don't do that :P The retail copies of Tiger are PPC only, you'll be wasting your time.
hehe, you knew that really tho xfiftyfour, of course :p :)
Edit: No, its not different for Desktop or Notebook, just the restore CDs are for that certain machine. For example, if you have an iMac, they restore CDs will not work on an eMac or a PowerMac. Same goes for Notebooks, MacBook restore CDs will not work on a MBP. Restore Cds do not work on anything bar the machine they were designed for.
iMac = Only work on iMac
MacBook = Only work on MacBook...

haha - oi! Glad someone is watching what I tell these people, heh. I had no idea Tiger was PPC only (how silly.. Apple doesn't have a retail version of Tiger for their intel lines??). Thanks for correcting me! I would have felt preeeetty terrible if someone had gone out and bought a retail version only to find it didn't work!

lol, nay worries. Thing is, there isnt a lot of point in Apple boxing up and shipping an Intel version, or a UB rather when it has been on all of their Intel machines they have shipped. Where as of course the retail version of Leopard will be UB.

It's a lovely machine, and I am looking for a Macbook, but I've been looking at the white 1.83 that might be updated soon and that would be cheaper brand new than yours.
I'm not in anyway trying to lowball you or say that your price is unfair, just that you asked for feedback and I thought I would tell you my reason for not being interested. I think I would prefer the blackbook, simply because of the color (and the yellow marks on the whitebooks) but it' a little steep for my budget.
Excellent machine though.

hmm..
right.. so if i happened to buy this macbook without any restoer cd's, and for some reason I have to restore the OS - then what? can't buy retail tiger - dont know anyone who would *lend* their copy..
seems a bit pointless?
unless you hope the book lasts till next spring for when leopard arrives?

I don't have the box or disks as they were damaged in my house move (I kept the box in the atticf and it got damp)
You can register the laptop and get Apple UK to send you rerplacement disks.
I am in the Greater Manchester area, I will ship to the UK or can meet locally to the greater manchester area :)

As this is a feeler, I presume you're open to advice, and feel free to ignore if not. If you're wanting as much money as possible for the MacBook, it might be worth you ordering the discs yourself and then offering it for sale. For the sake of £15 on your part to get the replacements, I think you'd make a lot more (and get a lot more interest) selling it as a complete package.

Price dropped, a few extras added.
if no one is interested, I can take it to ebay, just wanted to avoid ebay fees.
my macbook pro is here and now this machine is sitting in it's case on my bookshelf doing nothing, poor thing.
