I have a 20" 2.0 Intel iMac with the ATI x1600 256MB. I downloaded the demo of Quake 4 and to my suprise, it doesn't seem to support the resolution of 1600x1080. I have to play at a smaller resolution which only utilizes a portion of my screen. Is the option of 1600x1080 available on the full version? I can't see buying the game and not being able to play the game full screen. Help!

im pretty sure thats just because its a demo. i remember when i tried the demo on my 17" imac it wouldnt go native resolution, (or was that doom 3 :[). check if you have to change the screen to 9:10, if not, im sure its just a demo thing.

You could try this:

bring down console: (CTRL - OPTION ~)

seta r_customwidth 1680
seta r_customheight 1050
seta r_mode -1
vid_restart

Could this be a problem with the ATI video card? I have a Nvidia video card and have no problem playing the demo centered on my screen.

Does the demo also not have multiplayer/deathmatch? I cant find it in the demo but Quake demos in past have always had multiplayer capability

I am having the same resolution problem on my G5 with a NVIDIA 6800 Ultra. Only allows it to be played at 1600X900 and not 1680X1050

quite annoying

and to note, this is with the full version
