Installing Q3A in OS X without OS 9??

I'm trying to figure out how to install Quake 3 arena in OS X with having OS 9 installed. Opening up the Q3 CD shows a folder called "Quake 3". Do I just copy this folder over to my Applications folder?

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Just an FYI, I installed Quake 3 by just dragging the Quake 3 folder off of the cd into the Applications folder. A quick run of the 1.32 updater installs an OS X executable and Q3A is ready to run.

Does anyone play the mod Reaction Quake 3? It looks pretty sweet, but none of the servers ever have any players on them??
