Hi, I would pay $750-800 for this. Unofortunately, Applecare doesn't seem to add to the price these days as a lot of people aren't interested in it.
Nice machine btw, if your friend doesn't cough up - I'll pay this amount for it!
I'm desperately seeking one of these.

That is incorrect or uninformed. It may not make that much of a difference, however it does give a powerbook or anything mac a higher resale value to have applecare. I would say you should be fine asking $800 - $950 for this powerbook. I have seen them go for even more on Craigslist and ebay recently!

I agree, $800-$950 should be a fine asking price for your 12" PowerBook G4 Clydefrog. :)

My 2¢ to this:
You have to compare it to a used low end Macbook.

It is not 'incorrect or uninformed', it is my personal opinion and shoule only be taken as that. I gave what I would pay, or what I would expect to receive if I sold such a machine. I have sold MANY Apple computers with Applecare, and in MANY cases, it makes no difference to the buyer - with alot of them asking if there is any way to get the item without Applecare to bring the price down.
Not everyone is interested in Applecare. I am, which is why I look for it on all my purchases.
I have seen machines a similar spec to the OP's go for around $800 many times before.
Just MHO,
Thanks, David
