380 watt ?

heck it would be more than twice the power usage of the 360:

compared to last generation it's getting even more extreme:
1 ps3 = 12+ ps2s, 5 xbox or 18 gamecubes or 63 playstation 1

Interesting. People who tested the pre-release units said that the console is very quiet (PS2 slim like).

Either the 380W is just a peak figure and the average energy consumption is much lower or they put together a kick ass cooling system.

do you know what the quad G5's power supply was rated for?

1000 watts.

Whats my C2D 17" iMac? Out of curiosity...

That's a lot of power. Sony, doing their best to destroy the worlds energy. It's like FF7 all over again.

From the SPCR (Silent PC Review) official review a CoreDuo (Core3Duo should be only a couple watts difference) draws at the maximum 63W (That's including the 17" LCD Monitor) !!!

That's really low.
