If steve Jobs has an account on Mac Rumors which member do you think is Steve in discuise? My bets on Vinow, I can just see him in them high heals, singing along to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs....;)

I think vniow is too stylish to wear a black turtleneck, worn jeans, and cheesy sandals in public. ;)

I'm Steve! Bow to your god! :D

Just kidding... I have no idea who it would be, either. I have to say that it would be really cool if Steve was on this board. He did say in the MWSF03 Keynote that he visted rumor sites...

I would be surprised if he has ever posted here, if he's even a member. I'd wager there are several Cupertino employees here, though, mostly from Legal and they probably all lurk....

Maybe Bill Gates peruses these boards once in a while. If so, Bill, for Gods sake you're the richest man in the world. Get a decent haircut.

I've wondered if Steve Jobs ever came to this site either. I wouldn't think that he would post though. But it would be cool if he did!

Steve, if you are reading this, please post! Maybe you could give us some info on the music service and iPods! ;) :D

I'm not sure if Steve Jobs visits the site but I am almost positive that Woz does.

why wouldn't Steve take a look at this site? it's (i believe) the best rumours site out there (and subsequently the only one I visit regularly).

If I were Steve Jobs, I sure as hell would wanna see what people think, and what better way????

I don't know, Steve doesn't exactly seem the guy to dress up like that, you know with his turtleneck obsession and horrible taste in Macworld mood music........

Who is this steve guy ya'll speak of?

Is he some sort of god?

Oh wait, he's in my pocket ;)

What's that steve? You don't want to talk to the macrumors people? Ok.

Sorry guys, he doesn't want to talk. Maybe later.

Oh wait, he says that the iWalk is still a hoax.

I'd really like Steve to come by. But I really doubt it. If anything, I'm thinking that plug about him visiting the rumors site was just an off the cuff spin to make the MR and Mac fans pumped up for the MWSF show. Nothing more or less.

I'm really worried that you have something in your pocket "named" Steve.

I'm even more worried that you talk to this so-called "Steve"

And we should all be frightened because you think Steve talks back to you.

If Steve was on MR, he'd probably get sucked into it like the rest of us and not get anything done. The 17" would be produced very slowly, the new iPod delayed and the G5, well, it would be more than overdue...
WAIT A MINUTE !!!!

Let's all take turns being Steve Jobs.

GeneR
Apr 19, 2003, 12:18 AM
IF I were SJ, at the next Macworld, this would be what I would say...

FADE IN:

Steve Jobs paces before a captured audience of mac enthusiasts.

STEVE
We've got some insanely great things planned for Apple...All good things must come to an end: We've canned Motorola.
(wait for applause to die down, smiles, paces floor)
And we've brought in a little company downtown. Maybe you've heard of them: IBM.

Roar of applause. Smiles.

STEVE
(paces around nonchalantly)
And I think we all know what that means...

Screen changes. A new card appears: Introducing the 970.

People jump up to their feet clapping wildly. People are whistling, screaming, stamping their feet...

STEVE
Introducing the 970 chip. It's new. It's from IBM and it turns four to six times faster than current G4s...And it's clock speeds start at...
(pause)
A measly, 2.5 gigahertz...

The crowd goes wild again.

STEVE
Now a little while I said that this was the year of the notebook...Well, I meant it. So starting today we're issuing new versions of powerbooks with the 970.

More applause.

Steve smiles, places.

STEVE
Well, like I said all good things must come to an end. Back in, what was that? 1984? We had a little commercial called...

Steve holds his microphone up to the audience.

The audience screams: "1984!"

STEVE
And at that time, Big Blue, wasn't such a great friend. But, like I said. All good things come to an end. But...

There's a nervous laugh in the audience.

STEVE
There's also another saying...

More nervous laughter.

STEVE
It begins: Good things come to those..

AUDIENCE
...to those who wait!

STEVE
Now I like Motorolla...

Audience reacts uncertain. Some people still hiss. Other people still laugh nervously.

STEVE
They've been good business partners over the years, supplied us faithfully the G3 and G4 chips and we plan to continue our relations with them in the foreseeable future...
(beat)
That is...until this happens...

The note card changes:
Introducing the 970 and the 980.

The crowd jumps up on their feet again with wild applause.

STEVE
They're both here. Now. They're both from IBM. The 970 and the 980. The 970 for our prosumer line of Powerbooks and Powermacs and the 980 for our iBook and iMac line.
Like I said: Good things come to those who wait...

:D

That's what I would say. :D ;)
