saw that on slashdot the other day. Really cool, and amazingly enough except for 1 second of it, its all real, no CG.

yeah, that is tight. one of my friends has been ranting about how cool that is for a few days now. he saw it on slashdot too. i hadn't seen it till just now though, 'cos the link he gave me was always flooded (what you get for posting a link on slashdot, lol). good stuff.

I happened to get a copy of it in QuickTime, clear and crisp. Apple makes it better. So far haven't seen it on TV!

so what was the CG? the tires going up the ramp?

I was wondering at the end of it how the car--which appears to be empty-- rolls off the ramp--assuming the car's in neutral-- and just stops dead after tripping the banner to fall.

no the tires were real (they were weighted on the inside to make them go uphill, or so the slash dot article said). Its an exhaust pipe or something that was CG.

I don't think its a commercial for the american market.

i think the cheat is after the tire bit, when some small object gets launched up and over, knocks something else off a high perch. seems tgtbt.

It was the tires, there's not doubt about that. Pretty damn slick, though. Would have loved to been there to see it shot.

Are you sure it was the tires though? There are ways of making them go uphill...

Actually your wrong...


At one point, three tyres roll uphill because inside they have been weighted with bolts and screws

I don't have a place that I can host the Quicktime movie. Is there a way to post it at your website?
