Well, almost brand new. This is the latest Macbook Pro with Merom chip (Core 2 Duo) released last week, and which I recieved today. Was open and used for about 3hours as I installed and used my professional apps under rosetta emulation (illustrator, photoshop, etc).
After using it, decided that the speed was not quite as fast as my last generation Powerbook G4 under these EMULATED apps. Also, the screen resolution change from 1440x960 from the last generation powerbook to 1440x900 on the Macbook Pro was more of an issue than I thought for the work I do. I've decided to keep my money and wait until the pro-apps are ported to the Intels before switching from my G4.
Since I ordered this Macbook build-to-order I cannot return it to Apple. The details:
2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo
Upgraded to 160GB HD (first HD with Hitachi Perpendicular drive, VERY fast)
Glossy Vibrant Screen
2GB RAM.
NO stuck or dead pixels!
If you build this model on Apple's web site the total will come out to over $2800 with tax. I will take a over $200 lost for this brand new machine, for my 3hrs of use. I will restore the HD image so its fresh. You will get a new machine today, with a perfect screen (NO dead/stuck pixels on this one!) and save over $200. $2600 shipped to first buyer.
