Sims 2 buy PC version or Mac?

Hi all!

Any ideas? The Mac version is more expensive than the PC.

But does Sims 2 run under Bootcamp

BTW I will be purchasing a new intel mac after MWSF will it run on this?

Wow, the Mac version is $39 on Amazon over $25 for the PC version.

Seriously, get the Mac version. Every Mac with dedicated graphics will run it just fine.

I'll like to get the Mac version but its just that I would like to see if it runs in bootcamp better. I go SimCity 4 for the PC for pennies really and because PC games fall in price quicker than Mac its more financially better for me to get the PC version at least.

If you're hard pressed for money, then get the PC version, but if you mostly use OS X and can afford it, get the Mac version. That way you won't have to reboot and you'll support Mac game development and porting.

That's a valid point, but does bootcamp support sims entirely? I don't want to end up buying a pc version and bootcamp not running it properly:D

Bootcamp is just like running Windows on a PC, so yes it'll work just like on a PC.

I noticed your first question... If you buy the Sims 2 for Mac, yes it will run both on PowerPC and Intel Macs.

WOW that's great - i honestly don't know much about bootcamp - I know I'm late for the party :p but I don't have a Intel Mac yet :mad:

That's a valid point, but does bootcamp support sims entirely? I don't want to end up buying a pc version and bootcamp not running it properly:DBoot Camp turns your Mac into a 100% PC. It'll work EXACTLY like any other Windows-only computer of the exact same specifications.

You'll still have to supply your own copy of Windows.

I'm one for support the Mac game ports/developers too. :D

And don't forget that to run Windows in bootcamp you will have to get hold of a Windows XP license. That will cost quite a lot. I'm not sure how much, exactly, $191 for a normal XP home license on amazon.com, but I think you can get an OEM license cheaper elsewhere if you buy some hardware with it.

I have one XP home license from back in 2003 but that came with my compaq laptop - Can I use that one or do I have to purchase a new OEM license?
