I am trying to find one for my daughter for her birthday.
She's going to be 12 & I don't want to drop a lot of money on what she will probably loose.
I've seen good deals on craigslist and ebay but I am hesitant about them.

I don't care if it's 1-4Gb Nano because who needs 1k songs! We are pretty selective about her listening habits anyway.

So here's what I got:
Apple store 4GB $149 refurb + warranty = $161

Mac Mall
2GB $144 + free charger, case, fm tuner, w/ apple warranty =$200

Do I need a warranty, what's the consensis?
Any great deals out there?
Brenda

I would pick up a refurb 2GB nano direct from Apple for $99. It includes a 1 year warranty and you aren't shelling out a ton of money on something that is likely to be lost/abandoned.

Good luck!

This is a good starter. Throw in an iTunes gift card & she will be all set.
This way allows you to move up in next year (if she is still interested)

Good Luck

I'd love to find a $99 from the Apple store, they are $149. Should I wait, do you think the $99 will come back?
